The Strong should bear their weakness

This is accomplished by pleasing them for the purpose of building them up. That is, don’t offend their sensibilities, not because you might hurt their feelings, but because you don’t want them to violate their conscience.

I. Because the Messiah did not please himself

Psalm 69:7–9 NKJV
Because for Your sake I have borne reproach; Shame has covered my face. I have become a stranger to my brothers, And an alien to my mother’s children; Because zeal for Your house has eaten me up, And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.

II. Because we ought to be likeminded

III. Because Christ has Welcomed You

IV. Because Christ Served Jews

A. To confirm the Covenants

B. to Glorify God through the Gentiles

Psalm 18:48–50 NKJV
He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man. Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the Gentiles, And sing praises to Your name. Great deliverance He gives to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore.
Deuteronomy 32:43 NKJV
“Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people; For He will avenge the blood of His servants, And render vengeance to His adversaries; He will provide atonement for His land and His people.”
Psalm 117 NKJV
Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, And the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!
Isaiah 11:10 NKJV
“And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious.”
