David was chosen at the same time that Saul lost God’s favor. David’s anointing from God had begun before David or Saul knew that there would be a spiritual shift in his life.
When God replaces you, it has taken place before you get an opportunity to witness it and see it, so although you may be operating in authority or operating in the gift that was given, his spirit no longer honors the work.
God’s spirit honor the work of the new anointed before evidence of the anointing appears.
