Second, in a post of 300-500 words, explain Paul's use of the "body" metaphor in 1 Corinthians by answering the following question: Does he use it to sustain a concord that supported the status quo or does his family rhetoric render the metaphor more democratic in its orientation and goal? Using substantive textual evidence from 1 Corinthians, support your answer.
I feel that Paul's use of the "body" metaphor falls more in line with the second part of the question more than the first, especially in regards to 1 Corinthians 12.

The theme of love, which dominates chapter 13, is anticipated by what is said in 12.25 about the different members of the body having the same care for one another.
