World View!?

Today, as I begin the message for this morning, I would like to talk about world view of human being.
Have you ever thought about your World View? Or have you ever even heard about the world view?
People, in this world, whether they accept or not, have their own world view.
And even though you do not exactly know what is the meaning of the world view,
you also probably have your own world view in your mind already
or you will have your own world view in near future.
Now, I think some of you may wonder what is the meaning of the world view.
So, I would like to give you simple meaning of the world view.

Definition of World View:

A worldview is how you look at the world, how you think it operates, why things happen the way they do, what your purpose is.

A worldview is how you look at the world, how you think it operates,
why things happen the way they do, what your purpose is.
Therefore, the world view consistently impacts people’s behaviors, actions, and motivations in their daily lives.

Atheism = It is a belief that God does not exist.

For example, one of the worldview atheism, which is a belief that God does not exist,
explains the creation of the universe and of life as randomness acting over a very long time.
In such a worldview, it is easy to adopt an idea that people can have no purpose,
for it is by accident that people even exist.
As a result, you can see some people in this world freely consider that the best way of living their lives
is to just enjoy life as much as they can.

Ultimate goal = Money

And again therefore, there world view leads their life style and heart to pursue more materials such as money as
their ultimate goal in their lives.
Why? Because in order to enjoy their lives, what they need?
Money! And in some sense, it is good to make more money in your live. However, if you just simply want to make more money for your easy, fancy, cool life that is not good idea.
Although, money makes our lives comfortable, however, we should remember love for money is sin.

1 Timothy 6:10

10 For athe love of money is a root of all 1sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have bwandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Money is good when we use it properly, yet it is dangerous when you fall in love with it and desire it as your ultimate goal.!
Now, since atheism is the one of the popular world view, I would like to introduce some well known Atheists and their saying.

1. Thomas Edison,  he said “Religion is all bunk.”

The greatest American inventor, Thomas Edison, one of the great man in the world said this. “Religion is all bunk.”
He believed all religions are fake because he believed human’s reason and thought is valuable and it can be ultimate standard in our lives.

2. Ernest Hemingway   American writer. “All thinking men are atheists.”

And one of the famous American writer, Hemingway said this“all thinking men are atheists.
In other word, he affirmed that if anyone have the ability of thinking at least, then, they should not believe the existence of God.
Why? Because God is not visible and human’s five senses cannot agree the existence of God.

3. Benjamin Franklin   American statesman and inventor. “The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason.”

Here, another famous American and a politician , Benjamin Franklin, says this. “The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason.”
This wise man think faith is foolish since it ignores again human’s five senses and believes something without any reason.
However, what the word of God says to us.
Look at the book of Hebrew 11:31 says this.

1 Now faith is the 1aassurance of things 2bhoped for, the 3conviction of cthings not seen.

Now faith is the 1aassurance of things 2bhoped for, the 3conviction of cthings not seen.

Hebrews 10:38

38 aBUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH;

Here we see bible says even though faith is the assurance of things not seen, God’s righteous people lives by faith. !

Jude 20

20 But you, abeloved, bbuilding yourselves up on your most holy afaith, cpraying in the Holy Spirit,

Again, the word of God says our faith is holy faith and commands us to build ourselves up on the faith.
Now, who is right? and who is wrong?
The word of God simply says we need to put our trust on Him.
However, the atheist says we need to trust our thought, knowledge and reason from experience.
And we know most of people in the world trust their knowledge, thought, and reason.
And they behave as they see and think and give their trust according to their experience.
And sometimes even to us their lives seem wise and reasonable.
However, here is an interesting video that shows us our limitation of reason.
DVD.
As we see in this short video, the world view depends on our senses, knowledge experiences is very limited,
therefore in some sense it is dangerous.
Now, there are people who know the existence of God by their nature yet do not know who is true God.
In the book of Acts ch. 17, we see Paul’s mission trip in Athens, the city of Greek.
Here Paul met people who believe the existence of God.
Look at the verse 22-23.

So Paul stood in the midst of the 1Areopagus and said, “Men of aAthens, I observe that you are very breligious in all respects.

23 “For while I was passing through and examining the aobjects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.

Although, people believes their reason and knowledge, interestingly if we see the little closer to their lives, they are very religious in some way.
We call their world view as “Theism.”

Theism

They believe existence of God. But they do not know who true God is. So if you look at the book of Romans 1:21-23, Paul says this.
Even though they know the existence of God, they do not try to seek the true God, but rather they created their own gods and worship them.
And even in nowadays, we can still see people who worship gigantic trees, Sun, or moon, or animals. We call this kind of religion as “shamanism.”
Also, there are many different religions that worshiped their idols false gods.
And now you may wonder why people worship at least something.
And you can find the reason in Romans 1:20.

because athat which is known about God is evident 1within them; for God made it evident to them.

20 For asince the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, bbeing understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

We call it “Natural Revelation.”
God shows them himself through the nature. When we see our nature, we can see the glory of God, mighty power and beauty of Him.
However, we

Christian’s world view

We Christians has our own world view.
And one of the Christian world view is Monotheism. The monotheism believes that there is only one true God who created this world.
We believe the God created this world and thus we find the purpose of the Creation including our being from the Bible the very word of God.
Now, then what is the purpose of our being?
If we look at the book of Colossians 1:16, we can find what is our Our highest purpose which is to glorify God: “All things have been created through [the Son] and for him”
God created us for Him. He want
