Baptism Service for Braylon Sellers

Welcome/why are we here?

We live in unprecedented times, which is why moments like this today are so important and should be a source of hope for all involved. This is because Braylon is standing here as a testimony to the fact that God is still in the saving business no matter what is going on in the world around us. We have not been left alone nor forgotten by God.

Today we are going to baptize Braylon by sprinkling him instead of immersing him, which the method of baptism that we subscribe. But because of COVID-19, we are going about it this way as a temporary measure to honor and acknowledge the confession of faith made by Braylon Sellers. Therefore at some point in the future, Braylon can be immursed.

Anointing w/oil –

Anoint forehead; lay hands on his head, pray he would find his purpose on life’s journey, and pray that he would be obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Sprinkling –

Baptism is the adult right of initiation into the church. It is an outward sign of an inward change. Therefore on the confession of your faith, I baptize you – in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Ghost).

This concludes the service. I want to thank everyone that has helped guided and supported the Sellers family. I also want to thank the Sellers family for their patience and flexibility while we were working out the logistics to make this happen.
