Lessons from the Wilderness

12 The Spirit then compelled Jesus to go into the wilderness,

13 where he was tempted by Satan for forty days. He was out among the wild animals, and angels took care of him.

14 Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God’s Good News.*

15 “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”

Application Question: What can I learn from the wilderness experience that I can apply to my life today?

Preserving covering-(v.12) The Holy Spirit is with you wherever you go! He was with Jesus and He was with John as he preached in the wilderness!

How has the Holy Spirit covered you during this Coronavirus pandemic?

Protective Company-(v.13) The angels protected Jesus from the wild animals! God commands the angels to take care of you!

What has God protected you from during this pandemic?

Praise God for his protection from all the wild things during this wilderness experience!

Preparation to Carry-(v.14) Jesus preached the Good news after the wilderness! He is the example for us to spread the good news of what He brings!

What message has God given you to carry after the widerness experience?

Write it down, do live videos, paint murals, write poems, etc. However he has given it to you to express!

Promise Consumated-(v.15) Jesus preached about the Kingdom that they had been promised since Adam, recovered by Abraham, realized in David, restored by Jesus!

What promises has God given to you during this pandemic?

Write down His promises and proclaim and affirm them out loud daily!

Proclaim his promises, not the struggle! To often, we highlight the struggle more than the victorious finish!
