Colossians: Christ is More Than Enough LIVING OUT THE LORDSHIP YOU CONFESS - OUR DAILY PRACTICE OUR EVANGELISM (COLOSSIANS 4:2-6) BIG IDEA The key to living the Christian Life IN THE WORLD, AMONG UNBELIEVERS, is learning to bring our mind and conduct into alignment with our union and new reality in Christ. KEY QUESTION How do Christians live out the Lordship we confess in the World to reach unbelievers? I. Be Indirectly Involved Through Prayer 2-4; Pr 15:8; Isa 65:24; Ps 50:15; Prayer is offering up our desires and requests to God, with adoration, confession and thanksgiving to Him, expressing our utter and urgent dependence on Him. 1. We Must Pray Persistently 2a; Ac 1:14, 2:42, 6:4; Ro 12:12; Ep 6:18 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 2. We Must Prayer Watchfully 2b; Mt 26:38, 41 3. We Must Pray Thankfully 2c; Jas 5:16-18 4. We Must Pray for the Leaders 3 And pray for us, too, 5. We Must Pray for the Gospel Opportunities 3b that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 6. We Must Pray for the Mystery to Be Made Plain 3b-4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. II. Be Directly Involved Through Our Lifestyle 5-6 1. Create Opportunities Through Wise Behavior 5; Pr 11:30; Da 12:3; 1 The 4:11-12; Ti 2:9-10; Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 2. Create Opportunities Through Gracious Communication 6a Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, 3. Create Opportunities Through Individual Attention 6b so that you may know how to answer everyone.
