Luke 16:19-31,

Luke 16:19–31 GW
“There was a rich man who wore expensive clothes. Every day was like a party to him. There was also a beggar named Lazarus who was regularly brought to the gate of the rich man’s house. Lazarus would have eaten any scraps that fell from the rich man’s table. Lazarus was covered with sores, and dogs would lick them. “One day the beggar died, and the angels carried him to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. He went to hell, where he was constantly tortured. As he looked up, in the distance he saw Abraham and Lazarus. He yelled, ‘Father Abraham! Have mercy on me! Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water to cool off my tongue. I am suffering in this fire.’ “Abraham replied, ‘Remember, my child, that you had a life filled with good times, while Lazarus’ life was filled with misery. Now he has peace here, while you suffer. Besides, a wide area separates us. People couldn’t cross it in either direction even if they wanted to.’ “The rich man responded, ‘Then I ask you, Father, to send Lazarus back to my father’s home. I have five brothers. He can warn them so that they won’t end up in this place of torture.’ “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses’ ⌊Teachings⌋ and the Prophets. Your brothers should listen to them!’ “The rich man replied, ‘No, Father Abraham! If someone comes back to them from the dead, they will turn to God and change the way they think and act.’ “Abraham answered him, ‘If they won’t listen to Moses’ ⌊Teachings⌋ and the Prophets, they won’t be persuaded even if someone comes back to life.’ ”

In Hell you can see those Heaven

In Hell you will know things way before your time. He knew Abraham who was 800 years before his time. He was in Mose’s time. He knew who Abraham was.

In Hell you hunger and still thrist vs 24. I need my tongue cooled.

In Hell there is praying vs. 27 Asking that Abraham send someone to his fathers house. Prayers wasn't answered. John 9:31,

John 9:31 KJV 1900
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

In Hell you feel pain, he said I am tormented in this flame

There is flames in Hell

In Eternity you can see from Heaven to Hell and visa versa vs. 26, there's a gulf between Heaven and Hell

The Rich Man may have been a generous donor to charitable causes. But whatever else he was, in this story he is blind to the person in need who is sitting outside his gate. He is damned for his casual indifference to the person right at his door.

It’s easy to have great compassion for the human race while we ignore somebody next door, down the street, or in the office.

The poor are to be stewards of what they have as much as the rich or middle class.

The secret is to understand that what you have is not yours; it is loaned to you for a time. Nobody really owns anything

The poor man does not complain about his state in this world, and he does not gloat when he has it made in heaven.

Luke 16:27–31 (BBC): From the NT, we know that when a believer dies, his body goes to the grave, but his soul goes to be with Christ in heaven (2 Cor. 5:8; Phil. 1:23). Luke 16:27–31 (BBC): When an unbeliever dies, his body likewise goes to the grave, but his soul goes to Hades. For him, Hell is a place of suffering and remorse.

Luke 16:27–31 (BBC): At the time of the Rapture, the bodies of believers will be raised from the grave and reunited with their spirits and souls (1 Thess. 4:13–18). They will then dwell with Christ eternally.

Luke 16:27–31 (BBC): At the Judgment of the Great White Throne, the bodies, spirits, and souls of unbelievers will be reunited (Rev. 20:12, 13). They will then be cast into the lake of fire, a place of eternal punishment.

Luke 16:27–31 (BBC): A most solemn warning to the Pharisees, and to all who would live for money. They do so at the peril of their souls. It is better to beg bread on earth than to beg water in Hell.
