What are those great songs love to sing are reading this morning is taken from Isaiah chapter 56 vs 60.
And foreigners who bind themselves to the Lord to minister to him to love the name of the Lord and to be as servants all who keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and who hold fast to my Covenant these I will bring to my Holy Mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my Altar for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations The Sovereign Lord declares. He who gathers The X-Files of Israel. I will gather still others to them besides those already gathered. You and I are those others. So praise the Lord for that, huh?
You know God speaks to people in groups. And this was a course in address to the group of Israel. But to all those who ultimately will come to him, but it says individuals. You and I as a person come to the Lord to truly find that restoration that he desires to give in. So we read that over and over again and scripture of God's call and a needed response to that call. So praise His name remember I told you last week John and backed up was going in for surgery and he had the surgery they ultimately found out he needed to replace the Oort aortic valve. Why would they were in there? And so the surgery went a bit longer the next day they found out there was a leaking and so they had to go back in and open him up again and found out that one of the vessels had been leaking in his left lung and collapsed because of that so they took care of that and then yesterday he had He had to be transfused again. So he's gone through it. But this morning he called home twice and both times. He was really excited and he wanted to be out of ICU. So thank the Lord for that praise His name will continue to pray for him. Let's pray for Jackson. He's I guess right now heading up to Portland to hop on a plane for, South Carolina. Where he'll go through basic training need to pray for him and for his his stance in his faith in Jesus Christ as he goes through all of this at some dump no surge God while serving his country. Pray for the families travels to so let's go to prayer.
Precious Father in Heaven how we thank you. Thank you for your love for us that goes beyond all we could ask or think almost every one of us woke up to in a warm bed this morning and had breakfast and head heat for our houses and so many things that we forget to thank you for And yet you provide for all these things, it could be so different in this world we live in for there are so many that had don't have those things but you put us in a place where we do and we thank you. We thank you for your love and care the father. We also want to remember those who don't know you who are struggling in life particularly those of our community. And so we want to remember to pray for the lost that somehow in the working of your spirit and your guidance in our lives to be Ministers of the gospel of grace to these people that they would ultimately come to you and know you was Lord and Savior it changes their entire life. to be Redeemed by the precious Son of God Lord we do pray for the needs that have been mentioned and we think of John and and Joanne and thank you for bringing me along even though through the hardships and pray that somehow this would Minister to their hearts as they think back on where you have brought them from we pray for your guidance. I thank you that Mary was able to go back and spend time with Joanne and and be supportive there. It seems it was greatly needed in the praise you for that we do you want to pray for Jackson and the Stellar family as they travel up to Portland and back to powers that you would guide them safely on their Journeys, but we also pray for Jackson is he goes in and served his country that he was also remember that he represents you and all that. He does we pray that your It would be with him to guide him and lead him close to you day by day as he goes through all that you have for him. These can be great experience as we pray that it would be as he trusts you along the way. We do want to remember the unspoken request that each person here has those desires of the heart that call for your hand of healing for your encouragement along the way for provision for a great need father, you know, all of those requests, you know the hearts of each and every one of us and our cries for your hand of guidance in Mercy the pray for your rich blessing and father now as we continue on in worshipping you and this service, may we do so with joy and Thanksgiving for your great Provisions? Our Father in Heaven again we come before you and I thank you that you're always there and ready to listen and hear our words Are Thanksgiving and our desires father? The desire of the heart is that your spirit would be active and alive and Powerful in our midst that you would be working in each of our hearts the lead us toward you to help us know you and be able to walk with you with more power or energy more strength as we trust in you to guide us. Father may your spirit be active in live and working in each of us and in me that has I open my mouth. I would be listening intently to your words that you speak to me and through me that you would bless. And that you would encourage we ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Amen, well, we're finishing up that series found early on in Genesis where we look at that God's work in the Old Testament. This is one of those areas. There are multiple areas in the Bible where God really Reveals His plan for our lives his desire, you know, he created each and every one of us to be in Menace In relationship with him he desires that relationship from every person and so he does what he can to have that relationship happen. And of course we found it up right from the beginning Rod sent into the world and broke that relationship and God's plan is to bring that relationship back to every person who is willing to find his restorative plan and accept it. You see he's done all the work. Is that all the work to restore our lives and we just simply have to remember that and go to him to ask for that restoration plan by seeking his forgiveness for our sins and then coming to no one walk with him through our lives. But this is a part of that restorative plan and it's called today. I restart God restarts lives and he restarts each life individually. We see that is kind of the plan here with Noah and his three sons and and their wives and Erie started the whole effort through their lives, but I had to restart it. Does that restart on occasions? He did it with that Abraham remember that? He pulled Abraham away from all the other people and then go off on a So the God could Minister him to him. He did that and restoring the people of Israel after they falling away and we're taking off to Babylon. There was a restart got him started again. And certainly the greatest restart is when Jesus Christ came to this earth, and he truly gave the whole Plan of Salvation to mankind. Through his sacrifice on that cross for our locked while we're going to take a look at the restart today. We see chapter 9 of Genesis and The flight is taking place. They've gotten out of the craft and this is a time when God restarts and restores thing. So, let's start will read the first three verses then God bless Noah and his sons saying to them be fruitful and increase in numbers and fill the Earth. Fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth and on all the birds of the sky and only creatures that move along the ground and all in all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hands everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. Interesting stuff here a restart plan that involves a number of things it began in the previous chapter though. If we would go back to chapter 8, we would see how the plan starts because Noah and his family got off the ark and the first thing they did was they built an altar. And they sacrifice things to animals to the Lord. You know it begins with are coming to God and seeking him Genesis 8:20 says that Noah built an altar to the Lord and taking some of all the clean animals and clean Birds you sacrifice burnt offerings on it. You know coming out he created the first place of worship after getting off the arc. Okay, and that's something that we do we come to God and we worship Him and if we do that God wants to bless and that's why we see it's starting right there. Then God blessed Noah and his sons and their wives. he blessed them because they look to him as a one who had Restore their lives redeem them from the flood. They got to restart nobody else on Earth did. No, no other people survived that whole scenario. It was only those eight people and they willingly Worship the Lord and so God bless them. He gave them that rich and Powerful blessing and that's what he does when we choose to honor him. As you remember if you were listening the prayer today, I was thankful for God for all that. He has given us your lives are blessed. You know, we could live in another part of the world and we wouldn't since all that blessing that he has given that food in the morning that we have the warm bed. We crawl out of the heat turn on in the morning or stuff are fires full blast. This is with that and we need to remember that all the time but in these huge cases God blesses and and blesses them with substance. And and his desire for their loss is desire for their lives. Remember that he made that statement once before when he created Adam and Eve way back in Genesis chapter one. We see that blessing that he gives Genesis 1:28 e says God bless them and said to them be fruitful and increase in number fill the Earth and subdue it.
rollover The fish of the sea in the birds of the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.
Young man was given the opportunity to rule over all these things and certainly they did at first, you know, they could walk out into a field with a bunch of deer and the deer wouldn't go running off. They recognized Adam and Eve is being the rulers.
You know, there was a relationship between Mankind and the Beast in the original form. Think about that one a little bit. There wasn't any discuss. They were man was given the opportunity rule while they kind of destroyed that in the garden When sin came into the world and it certainly disrupted not only mankind but our universe and the beasts were part of that disruption, but there is also something different that happened to the animals notice the difference statement that is found in verse to the fear and dread of you will fall on the Beast. It wasn't just ruling now as matter fact, the ruling was kind of taken over them, but there is a fear that was put in the animals of mankind. There was no longer there. Relationship that was originally there we get kind of that relationship to our pets the dogs and cats that we have there. Is that kind of relationship that was ruling over them, but for the most part animals fear us Probably rightly. So in many ways because they now become food for us. And so that we become predatory in a lot of sense. But in Genesis 1:26, it says then God said let us make Mankind in our image in our likeness so that they may rule over the fish of the sea in the birds of the sky and over the livestock and all the wild animals in over all the creatures that move along the ground. That was our job. The rule over them. To essentially care for them to guide the animals and the way they ought to go. You know, there was no danger there in the beginning no danger whatsoever. You could walk up to a lion Pat in the lion would like it and behave just fine.
Not anymore not anymore. Fear was then placed in the animals fear and distrust that went along with that. And then finally it tells us that they have become food, you know. Animals are food. That's God's blessing on our lives that that we have that you know, it was probably. Probably something that had taken place, you know part of the corruption of mankind Before the Flood that was was probably eating a food. You know. God said, you can't eat them. It's for plants. I'll read this Genesis 1:29. Then God said I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be your food. So originally we were all vegetarians. We were supposed to be that way. But I imagine that the corruption part of the corruption that happened the world is there was The Taking of animals in the shedding of blood. For their for their own purposes their own food, and this was against the will of God that was part of the corruption that happened in our world. We can see that it will see that in the accounting as we go on here the whole idea of come in that second part here from Genesis 9 vs 4th at 7. We see the Commandments from the Lord and it deals with our relationship with animals and Mankind and how we are to treat them and respect them, but you must not eat meat that has been had it have its lifeblood still in it for your lifeblood. I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal and from each human being to I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being wherever sheds human blood by humans shall there blood be shed. You know.
You wonder about the man taking a life because they have taken another line. Your God says that's okay to do that is what we're supposed to do. In fact, it says for the image of God has God made mankind as for you be fruitful increase the number multiply on the earth and increase upon it. This is a command of God to understand the relationship between all mankind, I think because of this so you can look back into the past into my God judge the world. So harshly is because these commands that he's giving now had been disobeyed in the past. And so is coming forward and God is giving these commands to write what had become wrong in the world. But he does these commands to us whenever he is stablish has something new for our lives again, he does it when the people of Israel we're going to go in and take the promised land. God gave them a series of commands that they were to follow Deuteronomy 5 one says Moses summoned all is real and said here is real the decrees the laws I declare in your hearing today learn them and be sure to follow them when God commands he expects us to follow and there is an accounting as he stated in Genesis. There is an accounting for our lives when we don't follow his commands. And it doesn't matter whether we judge that as human beings. Ultimately it's going to judge it in his time. So we need to be careful about how we deal with these particular things.
anyway Hey, he goes on in this is stated again. As a God is giving out those commands in Leviticus. He States this living exit 126 and 70 says and wherever you live, you must not eat blood of any bird or animal anyone who is blood must be cut off from the people. You know, this was this was a serious, man by the Living God and that he expected the people to follow it and he still expects that today. This command has not been rescinded by any account and we ourselves are accountable to God in those terms.
The idea of shedding other's blood is given in Psalm Psalm 9 verse 12. It says he who avenges blood remembers. He does not ignore the cries of The Afflicted there are times when God wants us to make sure that we keep an account on things as uman beings and there are times when he calls vengeance upon those who take What are natural you kill somebody and they she when they shouldn't have there is a Redemptive factor that is in scripture. But there's also an accounting factor and I know that there are you just shoes about this in society, but it's pretty clear what God looks at when he calls us to make sure that we keep an accounting of ourselves. I imagine that if we do not that somehow God is going to do to keep it on account of our decisions. It's by human authority that this takes place Exodus 21-14, but if anyone's schemes and kills someone deliberately that person is to be taken from my Altar and put to death. Very very clear judgements in the word of God. And again, I know that there are issues. There are a lot of issues that are about these accountings, but it's certainly clear wood gun steaks in scripture and you know, there's a lot of things about scripture that people wanted to bathe and they want to say oh oh but you think about Justice and these are the things which scripture says it it ought to be absolute. This is the guidebook. God has given us for life, and we need to pay attention to it. Okay, he goes on and not only does he do a commandment but he does a covenant with people. We have a covenant that we are supposed to have with God and there are some that go down. Well, here's the Covenant issue verses 8 through 17 said then God said to Noah and to his sons with him. I now establish my Covenant with you in with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you the birds the livestock and all the wild animals all those who came out of the Ark with you every living creature on the earth. I establish my Covenant with you never again will all life is destroyed By the Waters of the flood never again, will there be a flood to destroy the Earth? And God said this is a sign of the Covenant. I'm making between me and you and every living creature with you a covenant for all generations to come. I have set my rainbow in the clouds and it will be a sign of the Covenant between me and the Earth and if you look up and see that rainbow remember, that's put there by God not by human being even when they claim to use that as their sign.
Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds. I will remember my Covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind never again, will the waters become a flood to destroy all life whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds. I will see it and remember the Everlasting Covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth. So God said to Noah this is the sign of the Covenant established between me and all life on the Earth. The Covenant I will never again destroy the Earth through water certainly. We've had storms that have brought Devastation to our world and even taken live but this magnitude of blood will never happen one. That is come upon mankind to destroy mankind.
And God says that he will continue continue to be with mankind to Stacy back in chapter 8 verse 22. It says as long as the Earth endures seedtime and harvest cold and heat summer and winter day and night will never cease and other words you can wake up and be assured that life is going to continue to go on. It won't be all of a sudden the sudden into life on the earth. It will continue. as long as the Earth exists You know, we will have life the sun isn't going to explode any minute now and Destroy mankind, none of those disasters are going to come upon us as long as God allows life to exist on this Earth. There will be a condemning sometime but that's in the future when we no longer live here.
There's always a sign that God gives to help us understand the Covenant. Some big issues. You can look at the wall up here and you see the cross that cross is a powerful sign to you and to me of God's Redemptive plan through Jesus Christ notice. There's nobody on that cross that because God doesn't exist there anymore. He was there for a time and came down from that Krauss and lives again, eternally just like you and I when we trust in his Redemptive work on the cross will live eternally with him. That's a sign. The rainbow is a sign and there are other times when God gives a sign remember Abraham, you know had that relationship with God and God talked to him several times about their relationship and ultimately he gave him a sign that he was to keep that relationship through this sign. Genesis 17:10 it says this is my Covenant with you and your descendants after you the Covenant you are to keep every male among you shall be circumcised.
And so from Abraham on the Jews have always been circumcised because it's a sign of the Covenant of their relationship with the living.
The sign of the rainbow is a sign to you and I of our covenant relationship with God in terms of his destruction on us. But the greatest sign is the one right there the sign of the cross. Because that's the Redemptive sign for our lives. That means that no matter what happens in our lives when we believe in the power of Jesus Christ on that cross. Then we can have life eternal life is the great sign. An empty cross. Well, we get a restart we get a restart.
It happens with a rainbow here, but this wasn't the first place rainbow actually existed. You know, I'm researching a little bit and there was a rainbow in heaven if we go all the way to the end Revelation chapter 4 verse 3. We see a rainbow. And the one who sat there have the appearance of Jasper and Ruby Jesus Christ. A rainbow that Shone like an emerald encircled the throne.
There will be a rainbow in heaven when we get to be there. Looking forward to it, but that was a sign of glory and it's a sign here on this Earth. I'm sure the one Inglorious even more spectacular than the ones that we see here on this Earth. But it's a forever sign. It's a forever sign when God gives something he doesn't take it away. Psalm 105 8 it says he remembers his Covenant Forever The Promise he made for a thousand Generations.
You know, I got to think about thousand Generations. Is it up at the end of a thousand Generations or what lord? Well, I begin to look at the generations from Adam one, and I found it. There were about 60 Generations that transpired between Adam and Jesus Christ. You can do some research yourself. It's all in scripture. You can find it easy enough but 60 Generations there while how many generations from Jesus Christ is a present, you know, it was more years previous to that at least four thousand years before that. Well from there, if you figure it out, you'll find it. We don't even come close to a thousand Generations. So that has nothing to do with any of it.
so No, I get to restart Noah gets a restart the world gets a restart. It's not destroyed. But because there were some that were faithful on the earth, they were restored redeemed and given - new and it happens over. It happened for Adam. Remember Adam is the one that I'll bring the first sin in the world along with his wife Eve. They were restored. They got that relationship back with the Lord. Eve recognized his work in bringing a child into the world. They had that relationship restored happened with Abraham, you know, everybody is essentially turned away from God in the world at that at the time of Abraham. You know and God came to Abraham and said, you know where we're going to have a relationship, you know. And done. So his he got a restart on life. And God had a relationship with Abraham and his descendants. And of course the greatest restart, once again, it's the restart we get through Jesus Christ. We find that restoration plan. That leads us on to Glory. great plan But you know the restart. As much as it is a broad picture. It's an individual picture as well you and I find a restart in our relationship with God as we personally determine. They give our lives over to him and ask him to forgive our sins to ask him to come into our heart. I can't do that for you. I can't ask God to come into your heart. You have to do that. If you have that relationship, that is wonderful, that's eternal. That's God's blessing on your life.
But if you don't have that relationship it is only your decision that keeps you from that relationship your decision to humble yourself before the Living God and trust that he can forgive your sins wipe them out. Totally get rid of them. You cast them so far away that he can't even see them.
The cast and so far away that he can't even see them. Can you imagine that? That's pretty amazing. You know, sometimes you beat yourself up because you sin. And you think how can I be so despicable and God's going to remember that forever? He says no, he says if you come and you ask for forgiveness, that's in is gone. forever
It's a work of Christ on the cross. And he did that for you. And you and you and for me.
And in no way means that we humble ourselves and accept that forgiveness.
You got to restart in eternity. Not just lie. And so the call for you, if you have not made that step of faith and trust in Jesus Christ his step out today asked Jesus. To be your lord and savior change the eternity of your life.
That's great. Are Grace's Father in heaven we? We thank you. That you give the opportunity for each and every person in the world to get a restart in life. Define the Eternal plan that is already paid for by the work of Jesus Christ. To know that plan and to bathe in that plan. You call each and every one of us to do that because you love us and you want the very best for our lives. And so father if there is one individual here are more than one. Who doesn't know you who hasn't made that step of Faith helped them to have the courage. the step out today To make that staff to seek you and to know you and know that they've been changed. for all eternity
