COMMUNION FOUNDATIONS

-My inability to eat carbs
-took me 40 years to realize why I was gaining weight
*Doctor questioning my weight (donuts, soda, etc)
Clean/perfect blood work
-now my weight is a reminder of the carbs that I ate
-With Jesus, he leaves us a reminder as well, but Jesus’ reminder is not about Carbs we ate, Jesus’ reminder is about the forgiveness of sins that we have received.
This is one of the weirdest verses in the Bible (eating Jesus and drinking His blood)
Or
What it is like to be forgiven (tension when you are not)
Or
“Remember” what are things we do to remember stuff? Dad’s funeral guide
RECAP- FEEDING THE 5,000

Jesus calls their bluff

John 6:25–26 ESV
When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?” Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves.
Q?: HOW MANY OF YOU NEED FORGIVENESS THIS MORNING?
-How many times of you committed a sin, apologized to Jesus, then did it again?
What are the circumstances of your emotions at that point?
You feel crummy, right?
you feel dirty
You feel worthless
Or how about, helpless
You keep doing the same things over and over again
You are not alone
Even the Apostle Paul writes
Romans 7:15–19 ESV
For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good. So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.
Jesus can’t transform the person you are pretending to be; come as you are.
