Genesis 22:14 ESV
14 So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”
It’s believed that, the place Abraham was directed by God to go and sacrifice his son Isaac was The same place, King David made a sacrifice to God to stop a plague on the land of Isreal for his sin of taking a census on the land, it is also the same place Solomon build the temple of the Lord God.
And Abraham said of this place that “The LORD will provide”, therefore when come to house of the LORD, we should come with all expectation, with full assurance that the Lord will provide. The place God Obtained the name “Jehovah-jireh” is the house of the Lord, for that’s the same place the temple of the Lord was built by Solomon. In the house of the Lord there are provision, the lord makes all provisions.
But why does it seems that when come to a gathering like this where we are before the lord, seems not to receive anything. the problem folks has not been the giver(God) but is has alway being the receiver(That’s Us). God has given we are not just willing to receive. let’s read the lord for us to see that God has already given
Romans 8:32 ESV
32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
The scripture teaches here that if God did not spare his son but gave him for our salvation, then He will give as all thing Oh hallelujah, being a Christian comes with a package, Oh hallelujah. Therefor we must understand that God has made the provision, why then don’t we receive, that’s what I mean it has always being the problem of the receiver not the giver, and that we are not alway willing to receive.
You know in Isaiah 1:19 the Bible say’s
Isaiah 1:19 LEB
19 If you are willing and you are obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.
In Isaiah 1:19 we see two categories of people. 1. there are who are willing but not obedient. 2. On the other hand there are people who are obedient but not willing.
Again therefore as I said It has not alway being the giver problem but the receiver problem. Now let’s see what the actual problem is. we are alway quick to claim the blessings but are not quick to see what Abraham did for all the blessing he had, we are alway quick say “am bless with the Abraham blessings” but fails to see the sacrifices that Abraham to to endure for all his blessings.
What then did Abraham did different.
Abraham was a man of faith. the bible teaches in NT that Abrahams faith is a model for us to follow, He believed God that it was not difficult for him to scarifies his son for God. Abraham faith is spoke about in Romans 4, especially
Romans 4:13-25
Abraham was ready to sacrifices anything for God, When he was called upon by God to sacrifices he son Isaac he did it without questioning even though very difficult on his part.
Note: The sacrifices of Isaac was not, is not the sacrifice itself but Abraham’s obedient, The bible say’s obedient is better than sacrifices. One can bring to God all sacrifices but if that person has not submitted him/herself in obedience to God his sacrifice is for nothing. Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:3 said “If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.”
That’s who Abraham was when he was blessed folks. Today people go about especially charismatics claiming Abraham blessing is my really! Can you stand Abraham’s test of times.
ABRAHAM'S HEART ATTITUDE
SACRIFICE- Abraham sacrifice his son Isaac, sacrifice is not an easy thing to do you know,Do you think it was easy for Abraham to say 1 am sacrificing my only son to God but he did it. That is what Abraham did and we able to to what Abraham did.
I know sacrifice is not an easy thing to do but that's what me do to obtain the blessing, reading Romans 12, me one font by Paul to
