Paul’s Exhortation in suffering part 3

Colossians 1:26-29 26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 29 To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.
Has been hidden to be hidden (concealed) v. — to be or become unknown by virtue of concealment, secrecy, or complexity. Keep back from, to keep secret or concealed
Ages era n. — a period of history having some distinctive feature. past, earliest times, eternity, from the beginning of time, perpetuity of time, all ages past
Generation generation (time) n. — the normal time between successive generations. Nations, metaphorically a group of men very like each other in endowments, pursuits and character.
Has been revealed to be manifest v. — to be or become clearly revealed to the mind, the senses, or judgment. to make plain, bring to light, expose publicly, to render apparent, to appear, to manifestly declare, to show forth by words, deeds or in any other way
Willed - wish or want, to desire v. — to feel or have a desire for; want strongly. To purpose, intent, maintain.
to make known : reveal, to cause to know v. to cause someone to know something. point out, Have thorough knowledge of, certify, declare
riches :wealth n. — an abundance of material possessions and resources. treasure, from a root word that means to be filled or fulfilled, accomplish, furnish. Abundance of resources
Gentiles: nation or people, gentiles n. — a person from an ethnic group or nation not allied with and trusting in the God of Israel (and later in Jesus as the Messiah); usually used collectively.
hope (object) n. — someone or something on which expectations are centered. expectancy, expectation of good
Preach : announce broadly v. — to make known openly and with wide distribution. Proclaim, declare, report
warning : to admonish v. — to warn or counsel in terms of someone’s behavior. Caution, put in mind, advise, rebuke.
Man : Anthropos person n. — a human being; sometimes referred to collectively as people. Male or female
Teaching : to teach v. — to impart skills or knowledge to. Instruct, tell, impart instruction, instill doctrine into, the thing taught.
wisdom (trait) n. — the trait of utilizing knowledge and experience with common sense and insight.
we may present : to present (formal) v. — to formally present something or someone to a superior.
perfect : spiritual mature adj. — being at an advanced stage of spiritual development; usually as a result of experience, teaching, and in most cases time. Complete, expert, full grown, mature, brought to its end, finished.
Labor : to toil v. — to do wearisome labor, or labor unto extreme fatigue. to grow weary, tired or exhausted ( with toil, burdens or grief )
Striving : to strain ⇔ fight v. — to exert much effort or energy (in something); conceived of as engaging in a fight or contest. to struggle, to compete for a prize
working : operation n. — process or manner of functioning or operating. Energeia : effectual working, in the NT used only of superhuman power, whether of God or the devil.
works : to implement v. — Energeo -to cause to function; to carry into effect. to put forth power, to work for one, to be at work.
mightily : Dunamis - power n. — possession of controlling influence; often understood as manifesting influence over reality in a supernatural manner. might, strength, force, ability, capability, deed of power, miraculous power, power for performing miracles, excellence of soul.
29 to this end I also labor unto extreme fatigue, struggling in competition to receive the prize according to His effectual working which causes me to function in excellence of soul and miraculous power.
