Notes

Godly Description:

Objective: To have each person evaluate themselves, and ask themselves how is my standing with God.
Diagnosis: We spend a lot of time questioning to am I living up to God standard. Although, God’s ultimate standard won’t be obtainable until we reach glory, God has still given us his word. God’s word reveals to us what is expected. However man has taken it upon themselves to circumvent or lower Gods expectation.
Sermon Prelude: At the end of the day saints we are still servants of the most high God, and although we have so many man made things at our disposal God still expects us to operate in a certain Dynamic.

Psalm 15:

First thing to note is that our Psalms have 7 categories. Royal, Wisdom Thanksgiving, Lament, Praise, Trust, and Hymn. This Psalm that we will be dissecting tonight is one that would fall in the genre of a hymn. The Psalm are not just important because of our inherent scripture, but mainly because of what Christ said in Luke 24:44 “ Then he said to them, These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets, and the Psalms.
1 The question is asked by David who should dwell with Yahweh. As to say that not just anyone can dwell with God. Now the requirements to dwell with God were not obtainable until the Death of Christ. Christ and only Christ can justify us. However , once we say that we are truly blood born believers, than sanctification should begin to show. Sanctification and its simplistic definition is the process in which sin decrees and holiness increases
2 We see 3 requirements: Who do I hang with, what do I listen to, where do I frequent, and what do I watch. Doing right should be simple, but to many it is not what you think it is right, but it is what God has said is right. 3. Speaks truth in his heart , a better way to say this is that he acknowledges truth, but not just any truth he acknowledges the truth that God has established.
3. He does not slander, basically not talking bad about a person in attempts to discredit or damage there character, gossiping is closely related to this ( reproach: is saying to fall out of fellowship with someone who is a friend. A person who has been through the mud with you or better yet another believer.
4 in whose eyes a vile person is despised. It means to take issue with someone he operates and practices the things that God despised. We are so comfortable saying weak statements like as long as that person isn’t hurting anyone, you do you I do me, we all drop the ball sometimes.
You must hate what God hates, you cant be wishy washey. And just in case we are stuck on the new testament let us take a walk in the new testament: James 4:17, Galatians 6:1, Romans 1: 28-32. Based on this, it is no need to brag about being in the kingdom and you to scared to tell someone that they are wrong.
