Reckless Believers

Matthew 14:28–29 NIV

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” 29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

Make it happen

How strong is your faith?

How strongly do you believe the word of God?

Do you believe strong enough that When God speaks to you, you internalize every word as if you were eating something sweet?

If so how sweet? sweeter than honey, than honey from a honey comb?

Do you get refreshed; does your soul get revived? Do you believe that God is greater than your self and others? greater than your problems, greater than any situation on any given day?

If so you just might be a reckless believer.

Reckless means (of a person or their actions) without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action."Reckless.

In today’s times people are afraid to say anything about God and the saving grace of Jesus because they don’t want to offend somebody or may be afraid what someone else might think of them.

believe God and His promises as God's chosen we know where we were before we were called Paul says. 1 Corinthians 1 :26-31

1 Corinthians 1:26–31 NIV

26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

Come on church let’s get out there and boast On The Lord!

Reckless also means heady, head strong, ready to do anything precipitate 2 Tim 3:4

2 Timothy 3:4 NIV

4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—

But when your a reckless believer you are Loyal, faithful, modest and you love God more than anything.

If you believe that, then nothing will stand in your way because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world! and we need to acknowledge that our God is all sufficient, His grace is sufficient, His love is Sufficient, His power is sufficient and that you and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

That The Word of God is final authority and everything it says that I can do- I can do, I believe that in all its perfection it is digested in every part of me and lives in me and when I read it! the Holy Spirit empowers me - Not! to live broken or defeated, but to live holy and sanctified life, in victory and as a conqueror “more than a conqueror”, taking up my cross and following Jesus because I know that I know that I know that He died for me and the life I live!!! I live in Jesus and no matter how it looks to anyone I will follow in His footsteps till I get to the doors of heaven.

careless of consequences when it comes to doing the things of God, meaning that if I am preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ I am not afraid I am not embarrassed; I am not ashamed of the Gospel because it is the power of God! There is Power in the Name of Jesus there is power in the Holy Spirit power in the word of God and if is in the word of God I believe it! I don’t care what the world might think you can just call me a

Reckless Believer

I’m a reckless believer

in the sense that no ones social or economic status will dictate or change my mind from believing the word of God and from loving Jesus. My God is awesome; and if people can talk about their idols, their material things, their sexualities and their sinful ways then I can talk about Jesus

The one The only God of the universe that spoke everything you and I see into existence and I will speak of His mercy and His grace and that His love is real and will never fade away because he is merciful and His mercy endures for ever and He is soon to return.

Saints if there is ever a time for you and I to become excited for the things of God and living to the fullness thereof it is now! now is the time.

Sometime we need to be reckless how we come to Jesus

1) like the woman with the issues of blood pushing through the crowed may have seemed Reckless but she had a need and a purpose.

2) like the four friends that tore a roof open to help the cripple man was reckless.

3) Sometimes we live a reckless life and at the cross cry to Jesus

Sometime we need to be reckless how we come to Jesus

Peter left everything to follow Jesus

Peter left the boat to follow Jesus and walked on water

I am reckless believer

Doing things out of love for God that makes me look like I’ve lost my mind sometimes, The Holy Spirit of God will cause you to do things that seem radical to others

See people that look from the outside of the Holy Spirit can’t understand it, they can not and will not make sense of it, because the secret things of God are only revealed to those that believe in Jesus and the power of His Holy Spirit, but until you realize what Jesus did on the cross and until you realize the power that’s in the blood of Christ and how it heals and the miracles that are born out of it,

you just might think that I am drunk, you may think that I am on something! When I throw my hands in the air and shout glory to the most high God or fall to my knees in worship- speak in another tongue interpret, you might ask is this real, you might make fun, For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, because you have not surrendered completely to God, The fact that is that if you don’t spend time in the presence of God you won’t understand.

Let me help you but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Cor 1:18

my passion for wanting to see people saved may seem reckless to some.

I am a reckless believer

But when you have a relationship with Jesus you won’t deny His power and you will not care what others think

I’m so reckless that whatever God ask me to do I do it with no questions, so reckless that where ever He say go! I go.

I’m so reckless that I will tell the world about God, that there is none greater than Jesus so reckless that I can shout it from the mountain tops and take it to the lowest valleys

see people tend to be reckless in living life away from God, facing deadly consequences never to enter the kingdom of God

Paul seemed reckless and makes him a Reckless believer when he said in 1 Corinthians 9:22

1 Corinthians 9:22 NIV

22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.

To the rich and the poor, to the Jews and the gentiles to the strong and the weak to every man woman and child i became all things to let them know that Jesus Christ is Lord and He alone can save you give you eternal life and that He is coming back!! sooner than you and I may think - I’m not afraid of the consequences of telling the world that you know why?

I am a reckless believer

I wish I had some reckless believers here today that are not ashamed of the Gospel. That would put Gods business ahead of their own self, are there any reckless believers that will say for God I live and for God I die,

A reckless believer does not make excuses a reckless believer of Jesus Christ say here I am send me a reckless believer gets out of the boat of their comfort and selfishness and into the treacherous waters when they see Jesus. Little faith it may be, but a little faith is enough for Jesus to pull you out of your situation.

and I am concluding this message.

I’m so reckless that I would push through crowds just so that I can touch Jesus -

I’m so reckless that I would carry my friends tare a hole in the roof top and lower them down just so that they can be forgiven.

I am reckless believer

I would go through the storms on wings like eagles because my hope is in the LORD

I will keep going knowing that He will renew my strength.

I will soar above the clouds; above the storm and through the storm and when I run, I run to God I will not grow tired, when I walk in the peace of God

Even through The Valley of the shadow of death I will not faint stumble nor fear for thou art with me.

Being a reckless believer simply means that that we appear to the world.

Without fear, full of love, power and a sound mind, when things out of our control happen we get an attitude of gratitude giving God thanks in all things “reckless” you may ask how can you be thankful in everything “ I’m a reckless believer” I don’t have to fully understand what God is doing and because I believe those things that are not as though they were I believe God is able to do the impossible, I’m a reckless believer because I seen God do the unexplained the unimaginable not only in my life but in the life of others.

I’m a reckless believer because God is carefully leading me, He’s planned out my life with every detail calculated, I’m a reckless believer because Jesus knowing that the consequences for loving me was to die and He did it anyways.

Call to Salvation

The love of Jesus may have seemed reckless and thoughtless but it was well planned out, perfect in every way and full of Life.

my question to you today are you living in reckless unbelief or are you a reckless believer.

Will you be brave and bold enough to live for God in such away that you impact your family, your friends and the world around you?

do you want to live for Jesus but never asked Him into your heart and you are willing to be unashamed to ask Him into your heart today? by the show of hands say I do.

Come on let us pray.

Father we thank you that people thought Jesus was crazy and that He would continue to do your will regardless of the consequences and that He was faithful even until death the death on the cross that He would save all who call upon His name.

Peter said Lord if it is you tell me to come to you! with no one looking around are you willing to say in your heart Lord if it is you tell me to come to you and I will.
