Injunction

a legal and equitable remedy in the form of a special court order that compels a party to do or refrain from specific acts.
Paul is stressing the need to give themselves fully to God;
He is reminding them, along with us today, that our life prior life produced sinfully fruits regardless of how good we think we are;
However, with a new life comes a new master and new results - when we truly follow Christ;
The Book of Romans A Forceful Injunction (Verses 19, 20)

In the past, as Paul reminds us in verse 20, their servitude to sin kept them free of righteousness; that is, no real righteousness was produced in their lives.

Inspected

Is their anything in your life, before accepting Christ, that you truly regret;
With what you thought about did it bring some embarrassment even thinking about it;
The Book of Romans The Fruit Inspected (Verses 21, 22)

Indeed, the believer is ashamed of the things his old master, sin, produced in his life. His “members” were indeed yielded to that master as tools by which all sorts of iniquity were produced.

Now what do about after accepting Christ, what has changed that brings about positive feelings;
When we allow Christ to guide our response to things are different;
The Book of Romans The Fruit Inspected (Verses 21, 22)

These “holy” fruits are the good qualities that are spiritually-produced, “the fruits of the Spirit” (as Paul calls them in Galatians 5:22, 23). They are holy because they are produced by God for God’s own glory and pleasure.

What are you producing regret or righteousness?

Outcome

There is an outcome to everything we do, the question is will it be positive or negative;
We all know that with life there comes physical death;
But what about your spiritual life what will happen at death;
The Book of Romans The Final Issue (Verse 23)

Serving sin, the way of life of the sinner, ends in eternal, spiritual death, the permanent separation of the soul from God.

This death, spiritual death, is more significant than physical death;
What are you willing to sacrifice to prevent spiritual death;
Now with a committed fellowship with Christ there comes a eternal relationship and fellowship with Christ;
The Book of Romans The Final Issue (Verse 23)

We note the intentional contrast between “wages” and “gift.” In the one case we receive what we have rightfully earned. In the other, what we have not deserved at all, a gift of God’s grace.

Now while the gift is free to us, like all gifts there was a price that someone paid;
The price for spiritual life cost Jesus His life as the final sacrifice.
