Lighten the Load

Jonah 1:5

 5 Then the mariners (Sailors) were afraid (Fearing for Life), and cried (Praying) every man unto his (Own) god, and cast forth the wares (Cargo) that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them (Lighten the Load). But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship (Below Deck); and he lay, and was fast (Sound) asleep.

Hebrews 12:1

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed (Surrounded) about with so great a cloud of witnesses (Life of Faith)-(Know the Truth), let us lay aside (Strip Off) every weight (Unnecessary Weight), and the sin which doth so easily beset (Slow Us Down, Entangles)(Hinders Progress) us, and let us run (Not Drag) with patience (Endurance, Steady, Active) the race (God’s Course for Us) that is set before us

Ephesians 4:22-24

22 That ye put off (Strip) concerning the former conversation (Way of Life, Nature, Desires) the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful (Deception) lusts (Bad Habits)

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind (Change Thinking)-(Fresh Mental and Spiritual Attitude)

24 And that ye put on the new man (New Way of Living), which after God (His Image) is created in righteousness (Right Way/Position) and true holiness (Freedom from Evil)
