Luke 24
A Silent Funeral on the Cross - Resurrection
Luke 24:1
1 Now upon the first day of the week (Sunday Morning), very early in the morning (Dawn-5am), they came unto the sepulchre (Tomb-Grave), bringing the spices (Embalming) which they had prepared (Anoint Jesus Body for Burial), and certain others with them.
It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them,
2 And they found the stone (Waist High Ground) rolled away (Back-Uncovered Entrance) from the sepulchre (Uncovered Grave).
(The stone was not rolled away to let the Lord Jesus out but to let them in)
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.(Clothes Laid were Still Intact)
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed (Puzzled and Confused) thereabout (Woundering what to do), behold, two men (Angels-Messagers) stood by them in shining garments (Dazzling White Robes):
5 And as they were afraid (Terrified), and bowed down their faces to the earth (Ground), they said unto them, Why seek ye the livinga among the dead? (Why Look Among the Dead for the Living)
6 He (Jesus Christ) is not here, but is risen: (Rose up from the Dead)
Women remembered these words of Jesus when the angels reminded them.
Sometimes you can hear something—and almost know it is true—but do not believe it.
That is the way a lot of people treat the Word of God today.
All of the gospel writers make it abundantly clear that the Lord Jesus told His disciples again and again that He was going to Jerusalem to die, and be raised again on the third day.
They heard what He said but somehow they really did not believe it.
