I could read v. 1-2 and then 10-11, what happened that made him decide? What tipped him over the edge?
The scene we are going to read tonight is enough to have Judas say, “enough is enough.” It will show the difference between the true follower and the faker.
Mark 14:3-9

Nothing we give Jesus is wasted. Everything we don’t, is.

Pops, toothpaste and a sai made of wood
I have recently learned the difference between “wasting” and “using.” Giving dog food to a dog? Not wasting. Giving human food that fell on the floor to the dog? Kinda wasting. Giving fresh, good human food to the dog? Wasting.
Which one is this? How can we even know?
Would selling this perfume and giving it to the poor be a good use? For sure. But this is a unique item...
This item is an heirloom item. It is a one-time use item. There is no higher use than this!
Me, stressing over the ghost buster slime: when is the right time to use it? This nard may have been passed down from one generation to another. When this woman saw Jesus, she said, “this is it. This is why I have this. I am going to use it all.”
This is just too much for Judas. Do you see the juxtaposition? PHOTOS
These two photos show what I mean. Either one of these things by themselves is interesting, but the fact that they are together makes a profound point.
Mark is doing the same thing. Judas thinks spending all of your money on Jesus is foolish…then he sells out Jesus for money.
Judas is prioritizing money over the savior, the woman is prioritizing the savior over money.
Somehow she knew what the disciples didn’t: that Jesus is on His way to death.
Spending your life for anything other than Jesus is a waste.
Her act of breaking and pouring out not only pointed to Jesus’ death, it symbolized it! His commitment to himself
CYC:
Leave her alone! (v. 6) Stop stopping each other from sacrificing for Jesus!
Do what you can (v. 8) How can you sacrifice for Jesus this week?
Ask yourself: who or what is going to save you?
