We need each other! Part 2
We need each other! Part 2
Ephesians 4:3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.
INTRODUCTION
Review last week:
1. Some practical avenues of fellowship.
a. Receiving one another into friendship.
Romans 15:7 Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.
b. Serving one another in practical ways.
Galatians 5:13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
c. House to House fellowship.
Act 2:46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity.
d. Showing hospitality to those in need.
Romans 12:13 When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.
e. Being considerate one of another.
Ephesians 4:32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
f. Helping the needy financially.
1 John 3:16 We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
1 John 3: 17 If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
1 John 3:18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.
g. Getting to know and appreciate each other.
John 13:34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
John 13:35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
If we have a positive then guess what? There’s must be a negative side.
In other words there are things that we should do, but there are things that we shouldn’t do.
So with what are we forbidden to fellowship?
When we enter into the Kingdom of God there should be an immediate separation from certain things that are totally inconsistent with the Christian lifestyle.
a. The unregenerate world.
Ephesians 5:11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.
b. Satanic spirits and cults.
1 Corinthians 10:20 No, not at all. I am saying that these sacrifices are offered to demons, not to God. And I don’t want you to participate with demons.
c. Unrighteousness
2 Cor. 6:14 Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
2 Cor. 6:15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?
2 Cor. 6:16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
2 Cor. 6:17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the LORD. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.
2 Cor. 6:18 And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty.”
d. False religion
Let’s read 2 Peter 2 chapter
Jude 4 I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
e. False doctrine
2 John verse 9 Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.
2 John verse 10 If anyone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Christ, don’t invite that person into your home or give any kind of encouragement.
2 John verse 11 Anyone who encourages such people becomes a partner in their evil work.
Look at:
Galatians 1:9 I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed.
Galatians 1:10 Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
Galatians 1:11 Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning.
