Matthew 6:9–10 HCSB
“Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, Your name be honored as holy. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Access to the Kingdom of God is through faith. We gain access to the Kingdom of God on the earth through prayer and petition. We bring the Kingdom of God to bear on this world as we exercise our faith through trust, prayer and petition.
In the Garden of Eden man had a one-on-one relationship with God. Adam and Eve walked in the fields with God. Adam and Eve had conversations with God face-to-face. Adam and Eve had unhibited access to God. Why? What is different about today compared to that time? Sin.
Adam and Eve doubted God and tossed Him aside. As a result, Adam and Eve welcomed sin and death into the world. Every person to be born from that point on would be born under the curse of sin and death…brokenness.
Genesis 2:16–17 HCSB
And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.”
As a further repercussion of Adam and Eve’s rejection of God, woman would have pain in child birth and enmity would exist between the woman and snakes.
