Matthew 4:5–7 (NLT) — 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, 6 and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.’ ” 7 Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.’”
KEY- The pinnacle of the temple arose some 200’ from the floor of the Kidron Valley.
THESIS: Don’t look for miracles from artificially created crisis. God reserves his power for those problems that stand in the face of his will and ways not yours.
MAIN POINT- Miracles come from obedience to God’s plan.
Any crisis that comes from our plan instead of God’s is ultimately an artificial crisis. We can just walk away from it.
ILLUSTRATION- Working hard on something we didn’t even need.
But we see artificial crisis pop up all the time!

POINT- The Devil loves you spending all your time and energy looking for miracles in the places God never lead you to go. It achieves 2 things…
1- You spend your time praying and asking for miracles when there is no miracle to be had.
2- You endanger your calling and your life by believing for a miracle in the place where there is no miracle to be had.
CHALLENGE: Stop looking for Power where God’s power isn’t.
Where was the power?
At his baptism - Obedience
At the end of the wilderness journey - Obedience
