The Weight of more than death.

Mark 14:32–36 CSB
Then they came to a place named Gethsemane, and he told his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” He took Peter, James, and John with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. He said to them, “I am deeply grieved to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake.” He went a little farther, fell to the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said, “Abba, Father! All things are possible for you. Take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what you will.”
Jesus and the disciples enter an olive grove called Gethsemane
The Gospel according to Mark Gethsemane: Prelude to the Cross (14:32–42)

It lay east of the Kidron brook at the foot of the Mount of Olives and was a familiar place for Jesus and his followers to gather

The Gospel according to Mark Gethsemane: Prelude to the Cross (14:32–42)

In Gethsemane Jesus is besieged with intense spiritual affliction

The knowledge of what was to come caused Him such distress
The words he uses to talk about his distress
The Gospel according to Mark Gethsemane: Prelude to the Cross (14:32–42)

Nothing in all the Bible compares to Jesus’ agony and anguish in Gethsemane—neither the laments of the Psalms, nor the broken heart of Abraham as he prepared to sacrifice his son Isaac (Gen 22:5), nor David’s grief at the death of his son Absalom (2 Sam 18:33). Luke 22:44 even speaks of Jesus’ “sweat falling to the ground like drops of blood” (so, too, Justin Martyr, Dial. Trypho 103.8). The suffering of Gethsemane left an indelible imprint on the early church (Heb 5:7).

The Gospel according to Mark Gethsemane: Prelude to the Cross (14:32–42)

Why does Jesus, who has foreseen his death and marched resolutely to Jerusalem to meet it, now quail before it?

The answer must be that Jesus is aware of facing something more than simply his own death.

Jesus was facing more than just physical suffering and death on the cross , He was about to drank from the CUP.
The cup is a metaphor for the wrath of God, the wrath that was meant to be pour out for the unholy and unrighteous again all sin.
This pray is an intense struggle with the frightful reality of God’s will and what it means to fully submit to it. Though He asked fot the cup to pass form Him, no alternative existed
So Jesus submitted to His father’s will and resolved to obey His father to be the ransom from many.

All according to plan

Mark 14:43–49 CSB
While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, suddenly arrived. With him was a mob, with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders. His betrayer had given them a signal. “The one I kiss,” he said, “he’s the one; arrest him and take him away under guard.” So when he came, immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Rabbi!” and kissed him. They took hold of him and arrested him. One of those who stood by drew his sword, struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his ear. Jesus said to them, “Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal, to capture me? Every day I was among you, teaching in the temple, and you didn’t arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”
After he is finished praying and speaking with his disciples Judas shows up
Judas comes up and gives Jesus a kiss
Now giving a kiss to Jesus wouldnt have been uncommon a kiss like this would have been as sign of devotion, a sign of friendship but for Judas it was a signal.
With it being dark and a place that maybe this mob had never been along with they may have never seen jesus before, this kiss would let them know “this is the only one you want”
Just makes a statement in the question he asks at the end.
He is asking am I some dangerous revolutionary that you should come at me like this?
If i was truly guilty of anything i was in public i was in the temple everyday but nothing happened only now at night out of sight you come because as we know he is innocent.
Although Jesus was betrayed and arrested this was nothing of the will of man but this is God’s sovereign plan, his plan for salvation of sinners
Mark 14:53 CSB
They led Jesus away to the high priest, and all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes assembled.

Mark 14:60–64 CSB
Then the high priest stood up before them all and questioned Jesus, “Don’t you have an answer to what these men are testifying against you?” But he kept silent and did not answer. Again the high priest questioned him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” “I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.” Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “Why do we still need witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy. What is your decision?” They all condemned him as deserving death.
What followed Jesus’ unjust arrest was a travesty fo a trial, it had false accusations and false testimony.
They were not looking for the truth but looking for a means to justify their intention to murder Jesus.
He remind silent they whole time
The high priest plays one final card asks the question
