Review: 2nd Kings 18:7,13-16
· Hezekiah rebels against Assyria
· Assyria invades & Sennacherib sends a list of demands.
· Hezekiah responds by striping the LORD Temple of all gold and Silver as a bribe.

· Why is Judah relying on Egypt?
· Why is Judah relying on God?
· Make a deal and don’t rely on God. I have the LORD’s approval.
· Sennacherib says LORD God-Jehovah or Yaweh.

o Jehovah or Yaweh can’t stop me

· Do not let God lie to you.(See 1st Samuel 15:29, Numbers 23:19, Hebrews 6:18)
· I am in Control Jehovah or Yaweh is not.
Hezekiah’s Response
· Go to where God dwells.
· Pray for Salvation.
o Based on who Jehovah or Yaweh is.
§ Not made of Human hands
§ All nations will know you are LORD GOD.
Response 4: God’s Response
· God’s promise to Sennacherib.
o Jehovah/ Yaweh knows Everything about you.
· God’s promise to Hezekiah
o A Supernatural response for God’s name to be praised.

· Hezekiah
o God blessed him and God as with him.
o He acquired wealth.
o He became prideful.
o Stripped the LORD’s Temple of the God and Silver.
o He was God, he was in control.
· Hezekiah’s Prayer
o Prideful Response Isaiah 38:10-15
§ My Soul is bitter.
o Salvation Response-Isaiah 38:16-20
§ God has restored my health.
§ Your love has delivered me.
§ You have forgiven my sins.
§ I will make your faithfulness know to my children.
Hezekiah’s Pride comes before Destruction-Isaiah 39:1-5
· Hezekiah’s Pride/Arrogance
o Letters that stroked his ego.
o His treasure, his armory, his treasuries, his palace, and his realm.
§ Nothing was God’s everything was his.
o These men came to me.
· God Responds with I am God, I am in Control
o Everything in your Palace will be stripped away.
o Your children will be carried off to Babylon.
· Hezekiah’s Pride/Arrogance
o As long as it does not happen to me.

o The Messiah will come.

o Seek and Save the lost.
Our Response to God

o Trust in God with all are heart.
o Lean on God for everything.
o Allow God to have control.
· 2 Timothy 4:2
o Share the Gospel.
o All the time. No matter when or where.
