Romans 8:13

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

14 Only those people who are led by God’s Spirit are his children.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

15 God’s Spirit doesn’t make us slaves who are afraid of him. Instead, we become his children and call him our Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

16 God’s Spirit makes us sure that we are his children.

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

17 His Spirit lets us know that together with Christ we will be given what God has promised. We will also share in the glory of Christ, because we have suffered with him.

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

18 I am sure that what we are suffering now cannot compare with the glory that will be shown to us.

2 Corinthians 4:16

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

16 We never give up. Our bodies are gradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day.

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

17 These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing.

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

18 Things that are seen don’t last forever, but things that are not seen are eternal. That’s why we keep our minds on the things that cannot be seen.

2 Timothy 3:11

11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

11 trouble and suffering in the cities of Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. Yet the Lord rescued me from all those terrible troubles.

Revelation 3:5

5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

5 Everyone who wins the victory will wear white clothes. Their names will not be erased from the book of life, v and I will tell my Father and his angels that they are my followers.
