Pray Without Ceasing And Watch What Happens (A Wednesday night message for 2021)
1 Thessalonians 5:1-18
Speaking from the message this past Sunday, are we, or can we become a Church truly devoted to prayer. What should we expect to see if we do?
Prayer is not just about asking of and receiving from God.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – Rejoice, Pray, Give Thanks
What should we expect to see if we become devoted to prayer? What should we expect to happen? (The Battle Plan for Prayer, pg.25)
· Increase in Salvations
· Increase in Discipleship
· Increase in True Christian fellowship
· Increase in making wise decisions
· Increase in overcoming Obstacles
· Needs met
· True worship be ignited
· Revival sparked
All validated by Scripture: Take time to turn in the Bible and read.
· Increase in Salvations
o Colossians 4:3 – Doors of evangelistic opportunities opened
o 1 Timothy 2:1-8 – Men praying everywhere
· Increase in Discipleship
o Luke 11:1-2 – Lord teach us to pray – people should be hungry for the word of God
o John 17 – How Christ prayed – Learn from Christ!
· Increase in True Christian fellowship (If we become devoted to prayer)
o Acts 2:42 – A keen desire to be with one another and learning the word of God
· Increase in making wise decisions (A praying church will be asking)
o James 1:5 – Just ask; then evaluate, proving that you have indeed increased
· Increase in Overcoming Obstacles (Pray believing)
o Mark 11:22-24 – Striving to overcome doubt; pray believing
· Needs met
o Matthew 6:11 – We are Instructed to pray for our daily needs
o Luke 11:5-13 – Be persistent is asking
· True worship be ignited
o Matthew 6:13 – Recognize His power and His glory
§ Deuteronomy 10:17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
o Acts 2:41-47 – Compelled to continually worship Him steadfastly
· Revival should be sparked
o 2 Chronicle 7:14 – “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” a promise from God.
