The snow has tried to stop us but it has not halted this series completely.
Week 1: The right rules can set us free
We talked about the “rulebook” and its significance
We talked about “doing” the word
Last Sunday: Free people make decisions that benefit others
Mark did a good job ringing in this point
Tonight we are going to focus on...
Week 2 (Sunday): Free people don’t dance with danger
I have heard that Callie did a phenomenal job talking about WISDOM a couple of Sundays ago
To truly understand what kind of freedom God wants for us, we need to have a GREAT understanding of WISDOM
To accomplish this, we are going to go over some new scripture that right(eous) kind of freedom
Stray vs Leroy
Stray vs Leroy
Before we get into our discussion on wisdom lets compare a couple of pictures

--- Show picture of stray dog ---
This dog is…
Visibly sad
Concerned/worried
Deprived/malnourished
BUT… in a way, this dog has freedom. Freedom to...
Sleep at any time
Eat at any time
Go wherever it wants
Ultimately, this dog has the absolute freedom to do whatever it wants to.
Nothing has authority to tell this dog what to do

--- Show picture of Leroy ---
This dog is…
Visibly happy/content
HANDSOME
Perfectly healthy
BUT… this dog does not have the same freedom that the other stray dog has. Leroy cant...
Eat at any time
Go where ever he wants
Chew on anything he wants
Ultimately, Leroy does not have absolute freedom to do whatever he wants but he does have another kind of freedom
Leroy is free from the worries, stresses, and evil from the outside world BECAUSE he puts trust in his providers
If we have this same mindset with our provider, then we will be come as HAPPY as Leroy, and we will be FREE PEOPLE!
Romans 8:1-3
Romans 8:1-3
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, 2 because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do since it was weakened by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh as a sin offering,
God is our provider and he knows what we need so we can experience the right(eous) kind of freedom
One of the most important things we need to experience this right(eous) kind of freedom is WISDOM
