HEBREWS 11:27 - 27 By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees him who is invisible.

BIG IDEA: WE CANNOT MOVE FORWARD WHILE FEARING THE WRATH OF CHANGE!

I’VE FOUND MYSELF FREQUENTLY FEARING CHANGE!
EITHER IN A SYSTEM OR A PROGRAM OR A LOCATION - CHANGE MAKES PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE - FEARFUL!
Some people will change when they see the light. Others change only when they feel the heat.
AS WE’VE STUDIED MOSES THIS PAST SUNDAY, WE LEARNED THAT AT A CERTAIN POINT, HE BECAME MORE CONCERNED WITH THE WELFARE OF HIS PEOPLE, THAN THE COMFORT OF HIS OWN CONDITION: VS. 24: BY FAITH MOSES, WHEN HE HAD GROWN UP, REUSED TO BE CALLED THE SON OF PHARAOH’S DAUGHTER (VS25) AND CHOSE TO SUFFER WITH THE PEOPLE OF GOD RATHER THAN TO ENJOY THE FLEETING PLEASURE OF SIN.

11 Years later, after Moses had grown up, he went out to his own people and observed their forced labor. He saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his people.

FIRST MOVEMENT:
DISCOMFORT LEADS TO CONVICTION!
THE TEXT SAYS THAT MOSES CHOSE TO SUFFER…HE WAS TOO UNCOMFORTABLE AND COMPASSIONATE TO CONTINUE “BUSINESS AS USUAL.” CONVICTION!!!
MOSES MADE TWO CHOICES:
REFUSE THE NAME: GIVING UP ALL OF THE PERKS HE HAD COME TO KNOW: STATUS - SYMBOL - SIN!
REJOIN THE FAM: IDENTIFY WITH WHO HE TRULY WAS. HE WASN’T AN EGYPTIAN, HE JUST LIVED AS ONE. HE COULD’VE STAYED IN PHARAOH’S HOUSE ALL IS LIFE, BUT HE WAS STILL A HEBREW.
HIS DISCOMFORT WITH THE MISTREATMENT OF HIS PEOPLE LED TO HIS CONVICTION. HE WAS WILLING TO LET-GO, IN ORDER TO BE IN ALIGNMENT WITH GOD’S WILL FOR HIS LIFE - THAT’S FAITH YALL! THAT’S CHANGE YALL...
(((HE LIVED AS THE GRANDCHILD TO THE KING))). NOW HE WOULD LIVE AS AN ADVOCATE FOR HIS PEOPLE!!!
DISCOMFORT LEADS TO CONVICTION!!
OBEDIENCE BREEDS COURAGE!
I CHOOSE TO SEE MOSES’ DEPARTURE REFERENCED HERE (NOT IN THE EXODUS, BUT IN THE ACCOUNT WHERE HE SLAYED THE EGYPTIAN). IN EXODUS 2:15 - 15 When Pharaoh heard about this, he tried to kill Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in the land of Midian, and sat down by a well.
MOSES IS ON THE RUN…AND YET HIS FAITH IS GROWING. HIS COURAGE IS GROWING. I SEE GOD’S SOVEREIGN HAND (HOW GOD MOVES US INTO PLACE). AS MOSES MOVES, HIS FAITH GROWS: OBEDIENCE BREEDS COURAGE.
HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO SAY THAT FAITH IS ACTIVATED BY OUR MOVEMENT? Everything continues in a state of rest unless it is compelled to change by forces impressed upon it. - Issac Newton, First Law of Motion.
WHEN WE OBEY (MOVEMENT) OUR COURAGE TO KEEP MOVING IS GROWN!
CHOICES LEAD TO CONSEQUENCES, WHICH DETERMINE THE QUALITY OF OUR LIVES.
MOSES’ CHOICES (GOOD & BAD) LED HIM DOWN THE PATH THAT EVENTUALLY PLACED HIM IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD!
DISCOMFORT LEADS TO CONVICTION
OBEDIENCE BREEDS COURAGE
PERSEVERANCE ENHANCES OUR FAITH!
FOR MOSES PERSEVERED (AS ONE) WHO SEES HIM WHO IS INVISIBLE.
FAITH OVER FEAR.
AS MOSES CONTINUED TO WALK IN OBEDIENCE - PERSEVERING AS HE PRESSED - HIS FAITH ENABLED HIM TO SEE THE INVISIBLE - TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE - TO ACCOMPLISH THE UNTHINKABLE!
FAITH FAM...
THE MORE OF IT YOU EXERCISE - THE MORE YOU’LL GET OUT OF IT!
