Luke 4:14–21 NIV84
14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. 15 He taught in their synagogues, and everyone praised him. 16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read. 17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” 20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him, 21 and he began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
Mark Twain said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” We all need an “Aha” moment. The moment when things make sense. The day you find your purpose is your “Aha” moment. Jesus always knew His purpose. Purpose, however, must be accompanied by the right time. When Jesus was 12, He taught others; however, His time had not yet come. When purpose intersects with time you become effective, courageous, and determined.

1. We were made on Purpose for a Purpose in the Kingdom of God

You were made for a purpose
You were not born when you were made
Premature birth diminishes the chances of purposed growth
Luke 2:49 NIV84
49 “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”
You have to go through the building process
The vision waits for the appointed time

2. We must go through the desert before we enter the Purpose

The children of Israel did not get out and get in
The desert was for their building (in addition to other reasons)
The trials and tests are the building stage of purpose
John 10:10–11 NIV84
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
The devil knows his purpose
To kill, to steal, and to destroy
The demons know and run with their vision
They are focused
They do not deviate
Jesus knew his purpose
To give full life to believers
To die for sinners
The believers’ purpose
Seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness FIRST
Matthew 6:33 CSB
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.
Repentance opens the door to the Kingdom
Repentance comes before revival
Mark 1:15 NIV84
15 “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!”

3. There is power in purpose

Jesus returned in the Power of the Spirit
This is the Aha moment
When things make sense
When you open the Scriptures and realize that the Almighty chose you—that’s the Aha moment
The moment you declare the purpose
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me
He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
He has sent me to open blind eyes
He has sent me to release the oppressed
He has sent me to proclaim the year of the Lord’s Favor

4. We need an “aha” moment of purpose

In view of His mercies “Aha”

5. Today is the day to reclaim your purpose

Live your life on purpose
If you’ve been through something “Aha”
It was for your purpose “Aha”
You almost gave up “Aha”
Somehow you made it through “Aha”
The haters almost had you “Aha”
Somehow you overcame “Aha”
The pandemic couldn’t defeat you “Aha”
There is a purpose “Aha”
The freeze did not freeze you out “Aha”
There is a purpose “Aha”
You’re still swinging “Aha”
Today is your “Aha” moment
Today is your day of purpose “Aha”
