I. INTRODUCTION:

Today, we will be continuing our sermon series “Reaching The World With The Word”.

The messages from this series all have a specific purpose; which is to provide knowledge, understanding, inspiration and insight in three specific areas as it pertains to the vision:

Those areas are Salvation, The Holy Spirit and Healing.

The Vision: God has called us to preach the Gospel to the lost through the ministry of evangelism and to make disciples of believers.

Foundation Scripture: Mark 16:15 - And he said unto them, Go ye unto all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

So far in this series, 4 messages have been preached on the first area of concentration; Salvation:

1) Reaching The World With The Word - Groundbreaking message where God gave us the vision for Beaufort.

2) The Right Stuff - What’s next now that the vision has been established. Here, I mentioned sacrifices in prayer for my well-being and the success of the vision, your availability, and your commitment to training.

3 and 4) The Ministry of Reconciliation - Part 1 and 2 - These two messages really revealed that the Lord has given every born-again believer a powerful ministry that many Christians are not even aware of. It’s a ministry that He has certainly made available to do the work of an evangelist.

Today, we will begin our second area of concentration within this series on The Holy Spirit. The message title is, “Be Ye Filled With The Holy Spirit”.

II. BODY:

The most important thing I want to reveal in today’s message is that it is indeed the Lord’s will for believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

The church in many ways have complicated this process through vain traditions, poor or erroneous teaching, and in many cases unbelief by having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.

You cannot defeat the devil by denying the power because it is a spiritual battle!

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty to the pulling down of strongholds.

Today, when you leave here, you will have no doubt that it’s our Heavenly Father’s will for every believer to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Luke 11:9-13 (Red Letters) - WALK EACH VERSE

King James Version Chapter 11

9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

One that is critically important prior to someone receiving the Holy Spirit is that they first of all should be saved.

A person cannot receive the Holy Ghost without first, receiving Salvation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV 1900

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

When you become a new creature your like a new house. There must be a house for power to be connected to!

Imagine the utility company having an order to connect power to a house, but when they get there, there’s no house! How are the going to connect if there’s no house?

Acts 1:8 KJV 1900

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

And for an even greater success rate, teaching to establish belief that it is God’s will and also for the person to desire to be filled. They have to desire it to be filled!

Because the Holy Spirit will not come in if you really don’t want him to. He’s a perfect gentlemen!

ACTS 8:14-17

King James Version Chapter 8

14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, cthat they might receive the Holy Ghost:

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only athey were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

The apostles didn’t go until they learned that the Samaritans had received the word, which was apparent that they received Christ.

Otherwise, they could not be filled with the Holy Ghost.

III. CONCLUSION:

Imagine getting a house built; it has the connections for power. But a house can’t be a home until you turn on the power!

Now the house is operating at it’s fullest potential!

Believers that are not filled with the Holy Spirit are not operating at their fullest potential! BE YE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST.
