God saved you without your good works. - (2:8-9)

Ephesians 2:8 ESV
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Review from 1:3-2:10. This is a the summary statement.
Grace - God giving you unmerited favor.
have been - perfect tense. Past action, with ongoing results.
saved - saved from what? Eternal hell.
faith - Faith then is the conduit.
Only works is if the faith is in the right object.
Even demons believe.

This, it = salvation.
not your own doing -
gift of God - ILLUSTRATION OF GIFTS? - often used for gifts to God.

The only thing God requires from you is faith in Him.

Ephesians 2:9 ESV
9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Not a result of works -
works - where we get energy. We sometimes run yourself ragged. - This is me.
So that no one may boast - ILLUSTRATION:? Taking pride in something. - We say “ look how busy for the Lord I am.”

God saved you for His good works. - (2:10)

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Workmanship
for good works - Good works never produces salvation. But Salvation always produces good works.
Walk - look back on the 2:1 and others. Metaphor for our life.

God never stops working on you.
