5 READ Isaiah 40:25-26,

25 “To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing.

Isaiah gives the Jews a picture of God as Creator. The host can mean the angels or the stars (often linked). The pagan cultures of the time worshiped the stars (the created things) rather than the Creator (God). Yet demonstrating a Cosmological and Teleological argument, Isaiah points out that God and only God has set them into place and named. He knows the name of every star in the Universe, not just the known universe, but the farthest reaches of the actual Universe.

Cosomological Argument: Whatever begins to exist has a cause; The universe began to exist; Therefore, the universe had a cause. The existence of the universe demonstrates the existence of God, since He was the cause.

Teleological Argument: Complexity implies a design/designer; The universe is highly complex; Therefore, the universe must have a designer. Because there is an intricate design (order and purpose) in the world around us, that grand design requires a designer (God).
