Give honor to Pastor and Sister Espindola
Such great hospitality…what a beautiful hotel
They were bragging on you last night…I see why!
Thank you for being in the house of the Lord today! God has already been moving, I’m anxious to see what he’s about to do next!

Text:

4 And the vessel ||that he made of clay cwas marred in the hand of the potter: so he †made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. 5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 6 O house of Israel, dcannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, eas the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

Jer 18:4-6

But now, O LORD, tthou art our father;

uWe are the clay, and vthou our potter;

And wwe all are the work of thy hand.

Isa 64:8
Isaiah 29:16 KJV 1900
Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: For shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? Or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
Isa 29:16
With the Help of the Lord today, I would like to preach “Still on the Potter’s Wheel.”
You may be seated

Introduction: Jeremiah’s Background

You see, Jeremiah prophesied during one of the most difficult times in Judah. Israel was in a broken state, a divided and distorted people, a people in need of a master craftsman. Today we know that craftsman to be Jesus.
Jeremiah prophesied to a stubborn people broken by sin. Most noticeably, we see their sins in idolatry in chapter 18. What we have to understand is that polytheism, or the worship of multiple gods, had seeped into the religious practices of Israel. This was a direct result from other nations influence on God’s chosen people.
How easy it is to rationalize something when it becomes our insurance policy for God - this is what idolatry was for the people of Judah. Idolatry had become an insurance policy for Yahweh. Well… if Yahweh fails to help me, I can always pray to Baal thought the children of Israel.
But, Jeremiah inquired of the people to trust in the Lord.

7 uBlessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose vhope the LORD is.

Jer 17:7
To better affirm that it was “the world” that polluted Israel’s worship, let us look at was in known as the Shema.

The Shema - Tri-lingual Pronouncement over the Congregation

4 fHear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5 And gthou shalt love the LORD thy God hwith all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy hmight. 6 And ithese words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And kthou shalt †teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 lAnd thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 mAnd thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

---
In the beginning portion of the prayer it is hear o Israel, our God is one Lord
I know who I pray to!
It’s not Allah
It’s not Buddha
It is JESUS
Israel knew their God to be one…only by allowing the ways of the world did they become polytheists.

The Tree Apostolic

Many of us have come into this place broken, not knowing who to turn to. What happens, TV becomes an idol. We end up going to so and so before we ever go to God.
We make sister, mother, brother our go-to when times get difficult instead of crying out to God like Peter did when he walked on water!
Church, he’s calling us into a deeper walk with him, but before we get there we’ve got to throw out the idols
Satan, you have no place in my home! If I put it before the Lord, it has become an idol unto me!
Time to break down the statues we’ve made within our own lives that keep us from Jesus!
“The quicker we repent, the less we’re broken!”
Jeremiah was prophesying to a people who were about to loose there epicenter of worship…you see, the Temple was a sacred place, but Yahweh didn’t need that Temple forever! Jesus was to arrive on the seen as His vessel!
Jesus made a way were we could become a holy priest hood!
Many of us have become weary from fighting the battles the enemy wages. We’ve become tired of fighting. Tired of battling with our children. Just plane tired. We’re ready to throw in the towel, but I’d like to challenge you to stay on the potter’s wheel just a little bit longer!
It doesn’t matter your situation, God can turn your life into a masterpiece.
I don’t care if you’ve been battered, bruised, and broken…Just stay on the potter’s wheel and allow God to form and mold you!
Jesus has your life in His hands!
Note: Allow the Lord to lead me here.

Closing

Maybe you’re coming from a broken situation today, where there seems to be no escape. Maybe your finances, family, and friends are falling apart before your very eyes. I want to encourage you, stay on the potters wheel. Jesus has you.
Today, maybe you need the Holy Ghost or even a deliverance, Jesus has you.
He is a deliverer
Maybe you have a calling unto the Lord
He is a provider
Maybe you have an untold need in this house. Something you’ve only shared with Jesus
Once again, let me say that he’s a provider!
Now is not the time to give up on church, it is time to get in the church with both feet.
THIS MORNING I FELT THIS IN MY SPIRIT: There’s someone in this house that is on the edge of the church and the world. If you’d just get planted in the church, God could finish what he’s started in you. You’re called to work in His kingdom, not dabble in the devils playground!
