God is the believer’s strength and shield

Psalm 28:7–8 KJV 1900
The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; And with my song will I praise him. The Lord is their strength, And he is the saving strength of his anointed.
See also Ge 15:1; Dt 33:29; Ps 3:3; Ps 7:10; Ps 119:114

Believers should be rightly clothed for battle

Romans 13:12–14 KJV 1900
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
See also Eph 4:22–24; Col 3:9; Col 3:12–14; 1 Pe 4:1
