Foundational Principle

Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Influence

* the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behaviour of someone or somethingwe are messengers of the gospel of peace - that is influence

Integrity

* the quality of being honest and having strong moral principlesthe level of our integrity will directly determine what influence we have

Foundational Person

Luke 2:52 NIV
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
Jesus is by far the most influential person in history
Jesus is by far the most influential person in your life
this is true whether you accept it or not
the person of Christ becomes significant because of his influence in you and in the world
this level of influence has a corresponding level of integrity
who Jesus is makes what Jesus does
The Four Expressions in Jesus
Wisdom
Oxford English Dictionary defines wisdom as the "Capacity of judging rightly in matters relating to life and conduct;
Charles Spurgeon defined wisdom as "the right use of knowledge"
Proverbs 2:9 NIV
Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path.
Jesus knows every good path - this is one of our gifts from him
Jesus took every good path
Holy Spirit mirrors Jesus into our lives
2. Stature
quality or status gained by growth, development, or achievement.
Jesus the human baby developed: physically, and intellectually and spiritually
Jesus had knowledge beyond his years
3. In Favour with God
Proverbs 3:5–6 NIV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
favour in God is walking, living righteously
Jesus knew who he was - the Father and I are one

it is our responsibility, our obligation to love God with all our heart, mind and soul
4. In Favour with Man
there is no value in being super spiritual
Proverbs 31:23 NIV
Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
spiritual value must be seen in human relationship
spiritual favour should be transform into influence
Jesus is our role model
In Summary
Jesus grew intellectually, physically, spiritually and socially
he was perfect in all his ways
we have the option of doing likewise
this is the crucial decision for us
are we ready to pursue a life of favour with God, and fom that with men
or are we going to allow the corrupting influence of this world and our sinful nature to rule
we can live unruly and less than holy lives, or
we can pursue righteousness, we can follow Jesus in all his ways
I want to be a man of influence , I must be a man of integrity
