Luke 8:22–25 (NLT)
22 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and started out. 23 As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger. 24 The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”
When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm. 25 Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?” The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!”
State: Notice Jesus did not remove them from being disciples because they had no faith/understanding
State:
I have had such a storm come into my life
For the last 11 months, I have been enduring the re-imergence of a condition I thought I had left in the past.
-5 other bouts of it in my life, starting at 24 years of age - never more than 2-3 months long
-I have learned that it is what’s called Complex-PTSD
-Caused by the effects of prolonged exposure by children to domestic violence/abuse
-I saw extreme violence done to my mother throughout my whole childhood
-My 11 month long battle with this condition has been the fight of my life…and it continues
-I have seen psychiatrist, psychologists, spiritual advisors and have been to Emergency with it.
I have had to learn how to Trust God in this Storm
God did not leave me alone in the storm…he spoke in differing ways

Isaiah 43:1–3 (NLT)
1 But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. 2 When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. 3 For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
Isaiah 30: 15 This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength
Psalm 27:10 NLT
10 Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close.
This was sent to me on a day I was having real struggle
BELOVED IS WHERE WE BEGIN
If you would enter into the wilderness, do not begin without a blessing. Do not leave without hearing who you are: Beloved, named by the One who has traveled this path before you.
Do not go without letting it echo in your ears, and if you find it is hard to let it into your heart, do not despair. That is what this journey is for.
I cannot promise this blessing will free you from danger, from fear, from hunger or thirst, from the scorching of sun or the fall of the night.
But I can tell you that on this path there will be help. I can tell you that on this way there will be rest.
I can tell you that you will know the strange graces that come to our aid only on a road such as this, that fly to meet us bearing comfort and strength, that come alongside us for no other cause than to lean themselves toward our ear and with their curious insistence whisper our name: Beloved. Beloved. Beloved.
