Yesterday, I was telling Keshia a joke that I had heard. I was excited! When I heard this joke, I was like, “Wow, that’s a good one!”So I was telling Keshia the joke and I was trying to build it up, and then I get to the end of the joke and she
simply says with a straight face, “That’s not funny”. She did not get the joke at all. I was so bummed out. I then explained it to her, and she was like, “Oh, I see.”
Have you ever had an, “Ah, I see” moment?
Have you ever been in that situation to where you looked back at a situation and thought, I wish I would have known that then?
John 14:8–9 (CSB)
8 “Lord,” said Philip, “show us the Father, and that’s enough for us.”
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been among you all this time and you do not know me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

God, you created the sun to rule the day and hung the moon in the night sky. You created the stars of heaven and scattered them across the canvas of the galaxy. God open the eyes of our hearts to see your majesty!!
God, you created the land and waters and separated them from one another, and then created all living things and placed us together within the circle of life. You gave purpose to all living things in a way that we all coincide with one another in one place, at one time, under the head of one God. God, open the eyes of our hearts to see your knowledge!!!
God, you called on several men throughout the course of history to write your words down on canvas, and then seemed them all together so that it told one big story. You have always had a leader in place to lead your people in the paths of righteousness, and you have always kept a remnant of people to stand on your promises no matter the times. God open the eyes of our hearts to see your foreknowledge!!
God, you sent your only begotten Son from heaven to earth. You sent Him to teach us who you are and then show us how to live it out. He gave food to the hungry, hope to the hopeless, power to the powerless, and freedom to the captives. He showered love onto the unlovable, he was a friend of sinners, and He brought down the high and mighty. He gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, legs to the cripple, and hands to the maimed. He cleansed lepers, cast out demons, and commanded the wind and rain. He taught us how to pray, how to be faithful, and how to be true. He gave us everything including His life. He persevered my beating, took on my shame, and died in my place. Praise your Holy name!!! Three days later He defeated Sin, He defeated Satan, and He defeated the grave by rising again and overcoming it all. God open the eyes of our hearts to see your love, grace, and mercy!!!
God, you sent another helper when you called Jesus home. You sent unto us the Holy Spirit of Truth. He has infiltrated the corridors of our hearts to lead us from the inside out. He has lead me through dark valleys as well as across the mountain tops. He has held my hand when there was noone else, and He has held my hand when I was surrounded. He has pricked my heart at just the right moments and He has filled my life with a peace that surpasses understanding. He has showed me how to conquer my sin and continues to show me how to draw closer to you. He has opened my eyes to truths that use to not understand and then He has kept me accountable to those truths once exposed to my heart. He has showed me my path when I didn’t even know my destination and He has carried me through some stuff whenever I couldn’t even stand. He has shared you presence with me when I didn’t even feel worthy and He has helped me to climb to new heights in my spiritual journey that I never thought possible!!! God open the eyes of our hearts to see your presence and your will!!!
God, open the eyes of our hearts to see you in everything we do, every place we go, and every person we meet. God help us to see past the fleshly covering and into the broken hearts of men. God help us to see past logic, reason, and knowledge so that we might walk by faith. God help us to see the spiritual needs in the lives of those around us.
God, open the eyes of our hearts to see you in us!
