Manner and methods of praise
Synopsis
Praise is the natural response of believers to God at all times and in all places, involving adoration in music and song. God himself assists believers to praise him through his Spirit.
Psalm 33:1–5 NKJV
1 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. 2 Praise the Lord with the harp; Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings. 3 Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy. 4 For the word of the Lord is right, And all His work is done in truth. 5 He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

The manner of praise

God is praised in faith

Psalm 28:7 NKJV
7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.

God is praised through Jesus Christ

Hebrews 13:15 NKJV
15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
Philippians 2:9–11 NKJV
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

God can be praised at any time and in any place

Psalm 104:33 NKJV
33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
Psalm 145:2 NKJV
2 Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever.

God helps believers to praise him

Psalm 40:3 NKJV
3 He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.
Ps. 33:3 again says, “sing to Him a new song,”

The Holy Spirit moves believers to praise

Ephesians 5:18–20 NKJV
18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Colossians 3:16–17 NKJV
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
