Are reading this morning is taken from the chapter of from Luke chapter 12 verses 16 to 21. You might remember we actually went through this last week, but there's no reason to go back here. Listen as we go through it and he told them this Parable the ground of a certain rich man yield in an abundant Harvest. He thought to himself what shall I do? I have no place to store my crops. And then he said this is what I'll do. I'll tear down my Barns and build bigger ones and there I will store my Surplus grain. And I'll say to myself you have plenty of grain laid up for many years take life easy eat drink and be merry but God said to him you. Very night that your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself. This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves, but it's not rich toward God. And the reason I took you there is this man was worried defending his life on this earth when he should have been worried about maintaining his quality lifestyle with God and therefore his life became worthless.

Prayer request let's continue. I the last week I blundered a little bit. I told you to Cheryl's I had ovarian cancer. I was wrong. It was uterine cancer. So but she still going in for surgery not this Monday, but the following Monday and so we need to be in prayer for them as they go through this process. Let's pray Grace's Father in Heaven how we thank you for your goodness. And your love that is displayed before us day by day as we continually look to you for our strength and our energy father May our trust in you grow day by day. We thank you that you are our lines are power and our strength. We do want to have these requests laid before you for you are the one who provides for all needs and father. We want to remember the people of our community who are struggling in life because they do not know the gift that you give through the Precious Blood of your son Jesus Christ that you are truly the way of Salvation And if they can have Security in this life by trusting in you and so we pray for their lives. We pray for their commitment to you. The Living God for it is in you and you alone that we find that piece that we need in this life. Father we want to remember those who are hurting and going through the struggles of life. And we so we pray for a Doug and Cheryl gray as Cheryl prepares for this surgery that is ahead of her. I thank you that she truly trust in you and that she will keep her focus upon you trusting that you will leader safely through this this battle that she is in. Lord we also pray for the needs that are unspoken for those requests that people have that haven't been mentioned but are truly on their hearts and whether those requests or personal or for somebody else or for situations in their lives father, you are the one who answers these requests help us to trust that you will answer it in the very best way as we know you will for you are the God who sees all things and knows the best path to take And our father as we continue to worship you this day May our hearts be drawn to you may our voices be raised in adoration to you as we sing and as we listen with our ears to the words that you have from your word, may you bless us. Oh Lord in Jesus name. Amen.

So we're going to take a look at what Jesus has to say about this today and is found in chapter 12 verses 22 through 34. We're going to read first of all 20 to 26 and this is going to take a look at the value that we have in looking to God as opposed to thinking about those needs that we have in our lives that we worry about. Does then Jesus said to his disciples? Therefore I tell you do not worry about your life. What you will eat about your body. What you will wear for life is more than food and the body more than clothes consider the Ravens. They do not sow or reap. They have no store room or barn and yet God feeds them how much more valuable are you than Birds who of You by worrying can add a single hour to your life, since you cannot do this, very little thing. Why do you worry about the rest? And it comes down to what is important. What are we looking to do to get out of our lives and Jesus of that in the life of Mary you remember Martha and Mary they were the sisters of Lazarus Lazarus who was raised from the dead found in John chapter 11 in the butt in the loop 10. Jesus is visiting them and Martha is a very she want to have everything in order and all those things cleaned up and all the food ready and in those things and she's busy with all these activities when Jesus and his disciples come to visit and she wants everything to be Right and if you like that want to be right. Well, she wanted to be just right and so she saw her sister Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to every word. He had to say and she comes and then Jesus says to her Martha Martha the Lord answered you're worried and upset about many things but few things are needed or indeed. Only one Mary has chosen what is better and it will be not not be taken away from her. You know, I'm this kind of should make us think okay. Well, what is a value and importance? Well, Jesus had words of wisdom that he was speaking to Mary and the disciples and anybody who was there to listen and they were listening to what he had to say and it was far more valuable than any food that might have been prepared any cleaning that might have had to been done. The focus on Jesus and what he had to say was far more important and that's has to do with our lives to what you do in focusing on God is the value and importance and Jesus was trying to help the people understand this. The things in their lives of value were his presence in his power being given to their lives and so he goes through and he talks about a few items of value and importance to us food for one thing and clothing for another any points to one of the birds that really is a negative for the people of Israel because they were in unclean bird The Raven it's a it's an unclean. I'll read you read you what God has to say about it in Leviticus all the way back to the Old Testament of Leviticus. And God is talking about the different ones that are unclean and says, he's living it gets 11 vs 13 to 15. These are the birds you are to regard as unclean and not eat because they are unclean The eagle the vulture the black vulture the red kite any kind of black kite any kind of Raven is he Ravens were not considered a clean animal and so they were kind of despised by the Israelites. And Jesus is saying, you know, even though that they aren't an acceptable bird God still take care of them. What do you take care of you even more? Because you are acceptable to God when you come to him and you see Kim you become acceptable to God. And these Ravens that even aren't acceptable they are cared for and so remember that God makes provision and he will make provision for us in all those areas that he spoke about oid of food that we need and clothing God is provided and will continue to provide.

And then you worry about time a little bit, you know, we kind of think about time and what goes on and we wanted to make sure that everything is in proper use sand and how we spend that time and God is saying well that's not really important. Either time is an important Psalm. 139:16 says your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. and you know, I as many of you know that I am I try to stay and in good physical shape, I exercise regularly so that my body is strong, but I'm not doing it because I necessarily want to live longer. I'm doing it just so that what I do I can I can serve God better when I'm healthy and strong and that's the reason I do it because I know as I just read in scripture every day of my life is already accounted for by God and I'm going to leave this like when he chooses it's not one I choose to leave this lot. But what we do do we should do to honor the Lord and that's the reason to do the things that we do. Every day for our lunch is already written down so we don't have to worry about our food. We don't have to worry about our clothing. We don't have to worry about our timetable and all of those things. It's already taken care of. So what do we do? We need to lay them at the in the hands of God with big question is where's your focus is your focus on the worldly. Things are happening around. Are you awake from looking to the Living God? Are you truly looking there? Psalm 25 9 and 10 says these words he guides the humble in what is right and teaches them is way all the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful towards those who keep the demands of his Covenant. We were talking about that in Sunday school this morning. We talked about the Israel conquering Jericho and God came to Joshua and Joshua said, you know, who are you for us or them and God said neither neither, you know, he's for the one who chooses to follow him who chooses to obey his commands to follow his Covenant and you who have decided that you want to walk with Jesus and him committed your life into your hands. You've agreed to that Covenant. And the whole idea is you your plan should be to fulfill that Covenant. Obey his commands rather than the desires of the world. And as you do that God is going to walk with you and he's going to make provision for your life in all the areas that we tend to worry about all those concerns that seem so big in her mind should be set aside and give it over to God.

What will continue on in that whole section of the next few verses 27 through 31. He talks about importance. What is truly important? Okay, he says consider how the wildflowers grow they do not labor or spin yet. I tell you not even Solomon in all his Splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire. How much more will he clothe you? You of little faith and do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink. Do not worry about it for the Pagan world runs after such things and your father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom and these things will be given to you as well.

A little story up the Jesus told a pair of well, it wasn't it was a man came to him in one passage is says he's a rich man another he's a he's a ruler and he comes to Jesus and he wants to be justified in his life for what he's done in Jesus said, you know, I've kept all the commands. I've been obedient every one of those demands and then Jesus said these words to him die in Luke chapter 18 verses 22 when Jesus heard this says in the other version that he loved him. He said to him you still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven then come follow me. You see this man had one worry, and that was for the finances. He had he wasn't about following God and following all those commands, but he was worried about whether he had enough money and well. Because he had enough because he wasn't certain. He didn't want to sell that. He didn't want to trust that Jesus would provide for everything in his life.

And so we walked away sad. That he could not have what he wanted. You know and it's just a strange thing that sometimes we give up all that we could have. Because we choose not to follow what God calls us to and this young this man gave up his life. because he was unwilling to follow Jesus's command to give up what he held from. God is money.

Any Traverse we see in this do have goals you have different goals in the world has the world has goals like financing and security and a great vehicle or a wonderful house or just different things like that that are goals and Solomon talked a lot about goals in the Book of Ecclesiastes. He wrote it one of the big terms in it is meaningless. This is meaningless. So that is meaningless and he goes through this Pursuits in life, whether they were building projects are, you know, meaning of wealth or any of these things and it all came down that these were all meaningless. Every every pursuit in life that is a worldly Pursuit is meaningless. In light of God's desire for your lives in his desire for you to walk with him. And so he gets to the end of the book Ecclesiastes chapter 12 the final boss second verse. He says these things Ecclesiastes 12:13. Now all has been hurt. Here's the conclusion of the matter fear God and keep his commands for this is the duty of all mankind. That's what God wants from our lungs. Did we fear Him and we keep his Commandments? You know, if you don't fear him, you're not going to keep his command you're going to run off and do what you want to do. But if there is true reverence for the Living God and desire to serve him you're going to do what is called you to do and so that's the call to each and every one of us. That's the top goal. That should be the top goal for each of Our Lives. That knowing god and keeping his commands ought to be number one in our list and he does provide when we focus on God and we seek after him he provides for our needs. You know when you can go through life and you can think wow, I have this big burden that is out there that I need, you know, and I just don't think I can attain it. Well if that is truly a need God provides it. God provides for every need that we have in our lives and we need to trust Did that is exactly what he is doing? You know when people don't follow those that desire when they want to seek their own way. They will struggle in line. But as we trust God we can have that piece that he alone can give him a life and we can accept where he has us Psalm 59 verses 15 and 16 say they wonder about for food and howl if not satisfied, but I will sing of your strength in the morning. I will Sing of Your Love For You Are My Fortress my refuge in times of trouble. You know is God our refuge. Is he the one we love is he the one we will pursue. I hope so. Our Pursuit Matthew 19:29 says and everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. You see the biggest inheritance that we can have is that relationship with the Living God because it gives us a security that we can have for all eternity. We're not stuck. in what only this world can give Because if you're depended upon what the world gives you will be a very disappointed person even at the end of your life, it is only when we trust in God. The big question for each of his his do I really believe that do I really believe that God's gift to me is a biggest because if I truly believe that and I trusted them the things that I do will be to follow what he has and what he desires for my life.

Let's go on ya next part the last section. You are God's Witnesses here on this Earth if you have trusted in him as Lord and Savior, and so Jesus is going to speak to those people at this time. He says do not be afraid Little Flock for your father. His is has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor provide purses for yourselves. Will that will not wear out a treasure in heaven that will never fail where no fee feed comes near and no more destroys for where your treasure is there. Your heart will be also

And the big question for all of us is where is our treasure? What is it? I am pursuing in this life that is a raise value in greatest importance and I think God calls each and every one of us to examine or is that Is God the big Pursuit Of My Life or?

Am I chasing after other things like that man? Who bought that money was the great power of his life, and he wouldn't give that up to follow Jesus or a great job.

Or even family sometimes God causes too many things.

You know, the people of Israel were supposed to follow God and do what he asked them to do and often they stumbled. And fell away and struggling with those things but there were times in life when they truly Drew close to him and trusted him. One of those times was when the Assyrians attacked Jerusalem and Hezekiah was King and he held on and he just Brave God. Letus help us through this struggle and Isaiah was was the prophet at this time and he had a lot of things to say any LED them through this process anyway in Isaiah 44 after this event. Chapter 44 verse 80 says do not tremble. Do not be afraid. Did I not Proclaim this in for tell at long ago? You are my Witnesses. Is there any God besides me know? There's no other Rock. I know not one. You know if God doesn't know of any other God then certainly we should not think of there being any other God whether that God is well or wisdom or understanding.

or any other thing in this world God is the most important thing for a while, but he is the one we need to pursue and when we do pursuing God bless us our lives. He gives us peace and takes us away from those worries in the struggles of Our Lives that terrorists from him.

standfast and stand firm in him You know what leads us to that huge verse that almost everybody memorizes by the time they're not so very old. Proverbs 3 5 & 6 says trust in the Lord with all your heart lean not on your own understanding. It says in all your ways in all your ways submit to him and he will make your path straight As sometime say that in the King James and so I first look at my paper to make sure I said it and and Ivy God watches over us he cares for us when we trust in him. When I place my trust in him, I don't have to worry about what's happening my life because I know that my God is in control of those circumstances and I can trust him. I don't have to worry about those circumstances and there are a lot of circumstances that jump up. You know how many of your parents worry about your children?

You know almost everyone of us do but God says they're in my hands. How many of your worry about finding the right job if you don't have a job or you know, making sure circumstances fit in your life somehow and we worry about those things, but God says trust me trust me if you really are my child. I'm watching over you. You don't have to worry. Just trust me in all those circumstances for no matter what how they come out. I'm there with you and it is the very best way that circumstance could come out. And we think of all the things that we need to do one of the great chapters. Of the Bible is in the Philippians chapter 3 and the Paul is talking about his desire to follow God and to seek Him Philippians 3 verses 8 says what is more I consider everything a loss? Because of the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus Christ my Lord bruzek. I've lost all things. I consider them rubbish that I may gain Christ. And if you think about that a little bit knowing Jesus Christ. What is that due for a loss what difference does it make for us? Well as I face the struggles of life and I keep my eyes on him. Then I don't battle through those things. I have the peace that God is truly with me. No matter how difficult the circumstance might be because I know in the end God's answer will be the very best answer for my life. Now when we think about worries in the struggles of life in those terms, we have dips in our lives or we fall down and we start to worry about things and struggles and then our lives become disrupted and we go through some of those struggles and you know, our heart starts urinating, you know, but we can get back on track. In fact Paul later on in that same chapter says I haven't achieved what I desire. I don't have that yet in my life completely but here's what I'm doing. I'm pursuing that I'm pressing on for that prize because I want Jesus Christ to fill up my so that I don't struggle with the things that come my way. Those aches and pains that come into our lives of struggles with relationships all of those things if I trust them into the hands of the Living God then I get to worry. I don't need to struggle with those things it brings. Peace. Through my life and your life as you pursue them. It's the great treasure that we have in this life. You know, there's a lot of things we can see cab after but if that is the main goal. Then we certainly are going to live a much easier life. Because we trusted him first Peter 5:4 says and when the chief Shepherd appears. You will receive the Crown of Glory that will never fade away. You are chief treasure is our relationship with the Living God because if we have that relationship with gone, and we don't have to worry about anything else because you and I are Eternal beings whether you know, Jesus Christ or not. You're an eternal being. NF my life is wrapped around Jesus Christ and knowing him Then I have a shura sir. I sure Assurance of my future glory in heaven. No Doubt That's the pursuit of my life and I hope that's the pursuit of your life that you want that more than anything else in your life. weather in anything so our conclusion, you know. We do struggle with worries and they will pop up. And when they do pop up in our lives and we need to think about the Battle, we're in what's the best thing that you can do?

You know, I find that when I have to call these are struggles that just pop up on there and I can't get my mind off of it. The only place to relieve myself is at the feet of the Living God. And so I fall on my knees before God and just commit those my life back into his hands so that I know that he will work out whatever worry is on my mind in the very best way possible. So they'll hope all is comes to each and every one of us. Do I really trust him? Do I trust him to take care of those struggles or am I going to sit there and worry about something that I can't change. You know, you can't change any of those.

but God can and so if you say well it's in God's hands. I don't need to worry about it. I trust him. And he will guide me through it. trust in the Lord with all your heart He'll take care of you'll take care of that spray.

Grace's father how we thank you vet. You are the mighty one who holds Our Lives in Your Hands. Depart from you. We worry about everything that comes our way but in you Having you present and Powerful in our lives relieves us of the straps that this life bring forward. And certainly we live in a world of great Incredibles raps, but it's all relieved at the feet of our living God our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Who Loved Us and gave everything to we have it all father help us to realize this and trust in you and give up those worries away. Thank you Lord in Jesus name. Amen.
