Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean.” Immediately he was healed of his leprosy.
When he entered the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
They told him, “Yes, Lord.”
“Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
This is the one about whom it is written, ‘Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
But Jesus spoke to them at once, saying, “Take heart! It is I! Do not be afraid.”
He said to them, “But you, who do you say that I am?”
In fact where two or three have gathered together in my name, there I am among them.”
“But he answered one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not make an agreement with me for a denarius?
Can’t I do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’
But Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?”
They said to him, “We are.”
Jesus answered them, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer it, I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
So they answered Jesus, “We do not know.”
He said to them, “Then I will not tell you by what authority I do these things.”
‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
“Look, this is why I am sending you prophets, wise men, and experts in the law. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town.
Because many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will deceive many people.
He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him the Teacher says, ‘My time is near. I will observe the Passover with my disciples at your house.’ ”
But after I have been raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”
and said, “This fellow said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’ ”
and by teaching them to keep all the instructions I have given you. And surely I am with you always until the end of the age.”
Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him. “I am willing,” he told him. “Be clean.”
They all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke with them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”
Jesus went away with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?”
“But who do you say I am?” he asked them.
Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.”
But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I am going to drink or be baptized with the baptism that I am going to be baptized with?”
“We can,” they replied.
Jesus told them, “You will drink the cup that I am going to drink and be baptized with the baptism that I am going to be baptized with.
Jesus replied, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”
Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
But about the dead—that they are raised—have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God told him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many.
But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”
“I am,” Jesus said. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be made clean.”
Immediately the leprosy left him.
This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’
One time when Jesus was praying alone and the disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
And Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”
Go your way. Look, I am sending you out as lambs among wolves.
And the one inside replies, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you.’
But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is finished!
He said to them, “Go tell that fox, ‘Look, I am going to drive out demons and heal people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.
“Another one said, ‘I bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out. I ask you to excuse me.’
“Still another said, ‘I just got married, and so I am unable to attend.’
“When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have more than enough bread, and I am dying from hunger!
I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ’
The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
“The manager said to himself, ‘What will I do, since my master is taking away the management position from me? I am not strong enough to dig. I am ashamed to beg.
I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from my position as manager, people will receive me into their houses.’
He called out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me! Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in misery in this flame.’
The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people, robbers, evildoers, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
“He said to him, ‘You wicked servant, I will judge you with your own words! You knew that I am a demanding man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow.
Jesus said to them, “Neither am I going to tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
He said, “Watch out so that you are not deceived! For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them.
For who is greater, one who reclines at the table or one who serves? Isn’t it the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
They all said, “Are you then the Son of God?”
He said to them, “I am what you are saying.”
Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself. Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
Look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working right up to the present time, and I am working too.”
I can do nothing at all on my own. I judge only as I hear. And my judgment is just, for I do not seek my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
But I have testimony greater than John’s. For the works that the Father gave me to carry out, the very works that I am doing, these testify about me that the Father has sent me.
“I am the Bread of Life,” Jesus told them. “The one who comes to me will never be hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty.
So the Jews started grumbling about him, because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”
“I am the Bread of Life.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread, he will live forever. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
The world cannot hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil.
You go up to the festival. I am not going up to this festival yet, because the right time for me has not yet arrived.”
If anyone wants to do his will, he will know whether my teaching is from God or if I speak on my own.
Then Jesus called out as he was teaching in the temple courts, “Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from. Yet I have not come on my own, but the one who sent me is real. You do not know him.
I know him because I am from him, and he sent me.”
Then Jesus said, “I am going to be with you only a little while longer. Then I am going away to the one who sent me.
You will be looking for me and will not find me, and where I am going to be, you cannot come.”
What does he mean by saying, ‘You will be looking for me and will not find me, and where I am going to be, you cannot come’?”
When Jesus spoke to them again, he said, “I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
“Even if I testify about myself,” Jesus replied, “my testimony is valid, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you do not know where I came from or where I am going.
But even if I were to judge, my judgment would be true, because I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent me.
I am one who testifies about myself, and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”
So he told them again, “I am going away. You will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”
So the Jews asked, “He won’t kill himself, will he, because he says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?”
“You are from below,” he told them. “I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.
That is why I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am the one, you will die in your sins.”
So Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am the one, and that I do nothing on my own. But I speak exactly as the Father taught me.
But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.
Who of you can convict me of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me?
Jesus said to them, “Amen, Amen, I tell you: Before Abraham was born, I am.”
As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the World.”
So Jesus said again, “Amen, Amen, I tell you: I am the door for the sheep.
I am the door. Whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.
“I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
“I am the Good Shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know me
what about the one whom the Father set apart and sent into the world? Do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?
But if I am doing them, even if you do not believe me, believe the works so that you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”
He said this and then told them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him up.”
And I am glad for your sake that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even if he dies.
If anyone serves me, let him follow me. And where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”
Jesus answered him, “You do not understand what I am doing now, but later you will understand.”
“You call me Teacher and Lord. You are right, because I am.
“I am not talking about all of you. I know those I have chosen. But this is so that the Scripture may be fulfilled: ‘One who eats bread with me has raised his heel against me.’
I am telling you this right now before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe that I am he.
“Dear children, I am going to be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.
Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?”
Jesus answered, “Where I am going you cannot follow now, but you will follow later.”
In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me, so that you may also be where I am.
You know where I am going, and you know the way.”
Jesus said to him, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I am telling you I am not speaking on my own, but the Father who remains in me is doing his works.
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me. Or else believe because of the works themselves.
“Amen, Amen, I tell you: The one who believes in me will do the works that I am doing. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.
“I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.
In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
You heard me tell you, ‘I am going away and I am coming to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.
But I want the world to know that I love the Father and that I am doing exactly what the Father has instructed me.
“Get up. Let’s leave this place.”
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
“I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him is the one who bears much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.
“But now I am going away to him who sent me, and not one of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’
about righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me;
Therefore some of his disciples asked one another, “What does he mean when he tells us, ‘In a little while you are not going to see me, and again in a little while you will see me,’ and ‘Because I am going away to the Father’?”
I came from the Father and have come into the world. Now I am going to leave the world and go to the Father.”
Listen, a time is coming, in fact it is here, when you will be scattered, everyone to his own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not going to be alone, because the Father is with me.
“I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, because they are yours.
I am no longer going to be in the world, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by your name, which you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.
“But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so that they may be filled with my joy.
I have given them your word. The world hated them, because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
May they all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. May they also be one in us, so that the world may believe that you sent me.
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am so that they may see my glory—the glory you gave me because you loved me before the world’s foundation.
“Jesus the Nazarene,” they replied.
“I am he,” Jesus told them.
Judas, the betrayer, was standing with them.
When Jesus told them, “I am he,” they backed away and fell to the ground.
“I told you that I am he,” Jesus replied. “So if you are looking for me, let these men go.”
“You are a king then?” Pilate asked.
Jesus answered, “I am, as you say, a king. For this reason I was born, and for this reason I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”
After this, knowing that everything had now been finished, and to fulfill the Scripture, Jesus said, “I thirst.”
Jesus told her, “Do not continue to cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father—to my God and your God.’ ”
He asked, “Who are you, Lord?”
He replied, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
“I answered, ‘Who are you, Lord?’
“He said to me, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene, whom you are persecuting.’
“Then I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’
“The Lord replied, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
I will rescue you from your people and from the Gentiles to whom I am sending you.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, the one who is, and who was, and who is coming, the Almighty.
When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He placed his right hand on me and said, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last—
the Living One. I was dead and, see, I am alive forever and ever! I also hold the keys of death and hell.
Look, I am going to throw her onto a bed and throw those who commit adultery with her into great suffering, if they do not repent of her works.
And I will put her children to death. And all the churches will know that I am the one who searches hearts and minds, and that I will give to each of you according to your works.
Look, I will make those who are from the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not but are lying—look, I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and make them realize that I have loved you.
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have so that no one takes your crown.
So, because you are lukewarm and not hot or cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
You say, “I am rich. I have become very wealthy and need nothing.” But you do not know that you are miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.
“Look: I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes on, so that he does not walk around naked and his shame is not seen.”
“And look: I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who holds on to the words of the prophecy of this book.”
Look, I am coming soon and my reward is with me, to repay each one according to what he has done.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star.
The one who testifies about these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
