What is the incarnation?

What does it mean that Jesus is the “Son of God”?

How can He be both God and man?

Perfect Equality

Jesus makes the claim that He is equal to the Father. But He goes even further, saying he can’t do anything on His own.

Jesus not only obeys His Father, but the Father tells Him what He is to do, the Father sends Him into the world. He is the agent of God for humanity.

Think about this. Jesus, who was the Son of God, the Savior of the world, could do nothing outside of the will of the Father. So if God Himself can’t do something outside of God’s will, why should we think we should be able to?

But they are also in perfect relationship to each other. His idententiy, and His actions are that of the Father.

But the Father loves the Son, that is why He shows Him what He is supposed to do.

Jesus, in His obedience, reveals the Father and His works.

Jesus has authority over all creation, and over human.s Jesus is the incarnation of God. HE is the word become flesh.

John 14:9 Jesus says that to see Him is to see the Father.

Jesus is showing that the Father can raise people from the dead, and what Jesus is doing with His miracles is a picture of what the Father can do both physically and spiritually. Thus, to believe what Jesus has done is to believe that in the Father we have eternal life. Jesus isn’t just revealing the Father, He will give Himself for all mankind as the perfect sacrifice.

To believe in Jesus is to believe in the Father. Thus we give honor to Jesus as God. We must give Him the honor He deserves. Many have thoughts about who Jesus us. Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet, Mormons believe that He was one of the great prophets, many others believe He is a great philosopher, we must believe that HE is God.

What does it mean that Jesus is the Son of man?

Jesus, by His word can bring people from death to life. But Jesus also judges all mankind, each one of us will stand before God one day. Jesus is our mediator who goes on our behalf and He deems us as blameless or sinners based on if we believe in Him.

The Father will testify to His claims when Jesus rises from the dead.

Jesus says that if there was a false Messiah we would definitely follow Him because thier message would be easier! Because we like to follow someone who has a simple message.
