What is the most encouraging thing you have ever had someone say to you?
Write, comment, shout it out.
The most encouraging thing I have had someone say to me is, “You were MADE for this!”
At the time, I didn’t realize that was a really Biblical thing, but it resonated with me and when i am facing what seem like impossible situations, I often say to myself, “You were MADE for this!”
13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
So...What is THIS?
THIS is:
Whatever you are going through RIGHT NOW, no matter what you feel, the TRUTH is - You Can Make It!
In pidgin: I can Hando!!!
We were made for this, and oftentimes we need help to handle what we are up against!
The Holy Spirit is The Helper!:
The Holy Spirit is The Helper!:
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
He is ALWAYS with us as our Helper.
Have you ever had someone (maybe your child) ask you for help and then they don’t listen to your instruction or follow your advice?
Or maybe they refuse to ask for help when you are sooooo willing to help them with no negative feelings or remarks.
We cannot be helped by God when we don’t ask or choose to not listen.
Check this out -
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
The Holy Spirit Himself is praying for you! How can you possibly lose?
Sometimes people are the help:
Sometimes people are the help:
9 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
Oftentimes we automatically think, “Yeah, I really could use help - I’m so glad someone is going to help me.”
You were born to be that helper for someone else!
17 A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.
24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Remember: You’re a minister
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
You have the answer and equipment from Heaven!
When someone is struggling we aren’t meant to leave them - Jesus NEVER leaves us.
Don’t let someone’s adversity chase you off.
Jesus even jumped into the fire with 3 Hebrew lads who were being persecuted for standing up for Him!
The Holy Spirit in you is drawn to adversity and chaos
2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
(I didn’t get involved in my sister’s times of greatest adversity - should have at least offered to get in the mix because I really did care)
Caveat Emptor:
Caveat Emptor:
Doing the work of the Holy Spirit by yourself is a surefire way to burn out and exhaust yourself
Don’t just have a bleeding heart & dive in without the leading and wisdom of the Holy Spirit
We can only truly be a help THROUGH the anointing and leading of the Holy Spirit
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Just know that sometimes the Holy Spirit will actually lead you & equip you to be with people through their adversity.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
When you obey and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, you will be just fine!
Just One Thing:
Just One Thing:
People all around us, in the world & in the church, are in the midst of great adversity - Let’s run to them under the leading of the Holy Spirit -
Minister, you were born for this!!!
