Created for Worship
1. God created us in his image and likeness. Different and diverse but we are one in the image and likeness of God.
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
Genesis 1:27 NKJV
2. God spoke to his creation in their diversity. God blessed them in their diversity.
“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.””
Genesis 1:28 NKJV
3. In him we have our forgiveness
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace”
Ephesians 1:7 NKJV
4. In him we consist and have our being.
“for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’”
Acts 17:28 NKJV
(He who was and is to come is the one be who lives in us! Yahweh).
5. God is before all things
“And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.”
Colossians 1:17 NKJV
“He existed before anything was made, and now everything finds completion in him.”
Colossians 1:17 TPT
What opportunities are available when a diverse grouping of people come together?
6. DIFFERENT AND DIVERSE WE ARE. However when we come together in worship, we create an atmosphere - which helps us.
“There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.”
I Corinthians 12:4 NKJV
“And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.”
I Corinthians 12:6 NKJV
I love them in their diversity. I meet them in their diversity.
Jesus said - When 2 or even 3 are gathered they create an atmosphere for his presence.
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.””
Matthew 18:20 NKJV
When the day of Pentecost was fully come. They were in one place and in one accord. They created an atmosphere for suddenly.
“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.”
Acts 2:1-2 NKJV
They created an atmosphere that enabled the Holy Spirit to fill them and enable them to give an outward expression of God that other different and diverse people could understand.
“And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?”
Acts 2:8 NKJV
7. When we come together to worship, we create an atmosphere where someone can believe to reach out by faith and connect.
“When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.””
Mark 5:27-28 NKJV
8. Some understand authority in the word, some understand presence.
The centurion understood authority, he said Jesus you do not have to come to my house - your word is sufficient.
“Now Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house. Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”
John 11:20-21 NKJV
9. The realisation of presence leads to an awareness of the anointed one and his anointing.
“She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.””
John 11:27 NKJV
“Then Martha replied, “Yes, Lord, I do! I’ve always believed that you are the Anointed One, the Son of God who has come into the world for us!””
John 11:27 TPT
10. As much as we create this atmosphere when we come together. We can also create the atmosphere of presence in our own individual and private worship.
The Lord is calling to you as an individual. Like Samuel you may answer: -
Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.””
I Samuel 3:10 NKJV
