A Power Filled Church

Big church, little church, it doesn’t matter to me, I want to be a living church. The Book Of Acts tells us what this looks like and how to be that life giving church.

Acts 6:3–4 NKJV

Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

Seek from among you

People of good reputation

People full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom

One who will accept responsibility

Stephen Speaks In Power With Irresistible Wisdom

Acts 6:10 NKJV

And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.

David’s Mighty Men

1 Samuel 22:1–2 NKJV

David therefore departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam. So when his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him. And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him.

People At The End Of Themselves -

Broke (debt),

Busted (distressed), and

Disgusted (bitter)

The beginning of God.

The 400 would soon be 600

1 Samuel 23:13 NKJV

So David and his men, about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah and went wherever they could go. Then it was told Saul that David had escaped from Keilah; so he halted the expedition.
