I would argue that prayer is the most important aspect of the Christian life.
Through prayer we have direct access to the God of the Universe, no matter where you are.
The purpose of Prayer isn’t to tell God something he doesn’t already know - that would be impossible. The purpose of prayer is also not to change God’s mind about something.
Through prayer, we as God’s creation, align our hearts with our Creator’s heart.

Jesus teaches us how to pray:
Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
