Story
A woman walks into a doctor’s office. She schedules an appointment and sits down it the waiting room. Whem it’s her turn to talk to the doctor, she describes all of her symptoms, and they’re unlike anything he’s heard before. The doctor runs a few tests and steps out of the room. He comes back later, and says, ‘Well I have good news and bad news.’ The woman says, ‘I’ll hear the good news first please.’ The doctor replies ‘The good news is we’re naming a disease after you!’
Recap - The Better Covenant

Better Symbol (1-10)

Place (1-5)
The Tabernacle contained the Ark of the Covenant, a symbol of the presence of the Lord.
Practice (6-7).
Once a year the priest entered the holy place to pray for the sins of the people.
Pictures (8-9).
The Old Testament practices and sacrifices were symbols of the coming Christ.

Better Sacrifice (11-14)

Perfect (11).
Christ became the perfect priest and entered heaven, the perfect tabernacle.
Purging (12-14).
Christ did not use the blood of animals. He offered salvation (cf. John 3:16; 1 John 1:9).

Better Savior (15–22)

Person (15).
Christ is our mediator. He intercedes between God a
nd man.
Proof (16).
Before a will is valid the person making the will must die. Christ has died; now the will is valid.
Power (17-18).
Blood was sprinkled by Moses before Christ was born (cf. John 3:14-15)
Plan (19–21).
“Then he said, ‘This is the blood that marks the beginning of the agreement between you and God, the agreement God commanded me to make with you’ ” (LB).
Purging (22).
Without blood there is no forgiveness. Jesus became God’s Lamb (John 1:29).

Better Security (23–28)

Purity (23).
The earthly tabernacle was just a symbol of the heavenly tabernacle. Abraham looked for a city not made with hands (Heb. 11:10).
Perfection (24).
Christ the perfect priest is now in heaven.
Power (25-26).
He made one sacrifice, which is enough for all ages. All we need is to accept it (John 3:16).
Problem (27).
All must die (27). After death comes the judgment (Rev. 20:11–15).
Promise (28).
The Christ who died for our sins will come back to earth (John 14:1–3; 1 Thess. 4:13–18).
