Mark: A Bible Commentary in the Wesleyan Tradition 2. Crucifixion of Jesus 15:21–32

Mark: A Bible Commentary in the Wesleyan Tradition 2. Crucifixion of Jesus 15:21–32

Jesus’ death is portrayed by Mark as foretold in Scripture (14:49), in submission to the will of the Father (14:36) and housed in the language of corporate rejection and personal shame. All the while, Jesus was effectively silent and passive.
