How to Have Hope in Hard Times

Hope in Heaven

1. Daniel gives the meaning of the dream.

At the end of chapter one, we learn that Daniel has been given this special skill:

17 As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

Earlier in chapter 2 we read that Daniel prayed to God regarding the mystery and

19 Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night.

Listen: God has placed you where you are for a purpose.

God has put you where you are so that you can know Him and experience His love, and love Him in return and then share His love with others.

“Know God, Love God, Make God Known”. I use that simple three phrase sentence with my boys. Wherever you go, wherever you find yourself, that is what we are made to do as blood bought children of God. We are to be about the work of loving God and loving people wherever God has placed us: in your home-let your family see you reading your bible, let them hear your praying for them, let them see you serving them; in your class room- let them see your kindness, be helpful and respectful to the teacher, pray with the classmate that just told you how hard things have been lately, ask

We see Daniel’s humility as Daniel praises God for His help and then gives God all the glory for giving hime the vision and its meaning as he told the King the vision and its interpretation.

The dream foretells the future.

3. Each section of the statue represents a successive kingdom.

4. Each kingdom is inferior to the one before it.

5. Until the last kingdom which destroys all other kingdoms. It is the Kingdom of Christ. Christ is the rock. Matthew 21:33-44.

6. To have hope in the hard times we must hope in the Kingdom above all other kingdoms. We must hope in Christ.
