The Desire of the Religious Leaders

The Devotion of the Wreckless Woman

The Double-Cross of the Regular Companion

Call to Action

The gospel in general calls us to respond. Will we empty ourselves in pursuit of Christ or hang on to lesser loves? Three responses are exemplified in this passage:
The religious leaders and Judas represent outright rejection.
The disciples represent those who are so caught up in the day-to-day dedication that they’re devoid of their first love.
The woman represents someone willing to leave it all behind to follow Jesus.
Don’t be surprised when total obedience is costly.
Don’t be shocked when genuine worship is criticized.
