James 2:1–13 CSB
My brothers and sisters, do not show favoritism as you hold on to the faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. For if someone comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and a poor person dressed in filthy clothes also comes in, if you look with favor on the one wearing the fine clothes and say, “Sit here in a good place,” and yet you say to the poor person, “Stand over there,” or “Sit here on the floor by my footstool,” haven’t you made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him? Yet you have dishonored the poor. Don’t the rich oppress you and drag you into court? Don’t they blaspheme the good name that was invoked over you? Indeed, if you fulfill the royal law prescribed in the Scripture, Love your neighbor as yourself, you are doing well. If, however, you show favoritism, you commit sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. For whoever keeps the entire law, and yet stumbles at one point, is guilty of breaking it all. For he who said, Do not commit adultery, also said, Do not murder. So if you do not commit adultery, but you murder, you are a lawbreaker. Speak and act as those who are to be judged by the law of freedom. For judgment is without mercy to the one who has not shown mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
As we look at God’s word tonight we see that we are looking at Favoritism. This is a word that is thrown around quite offend. Usally by brother and sisters but it does transition in to our lives at work, School, Sports clubs, or our friends.
See this is something that we all feel happens and we all end up feeling like we got the short end of the stick. We have all felt like that someone is showed special treatment over us.
But in realilty if we are living is God’s standards we are actually guility of doing this the most.
See we look at this passage and see that in reality we are guility of choosing who we talk to that comes into the church.
As we go through this I want you to think to yourself have you ever done this?
Here we see it talking about a question that tranlates to us so well.
What do you do when someone comes into the room that has gold on and is dressed nicely. What do you do the person that comes into the room and in poor and is barely dressed at all?
How does this tranlate to the student department? Simple what do you do when someone new come into the room?
do you judge them by what they are wearing or how much weight they have
If they have money, if they are consider cool or not.
If you have ever look at some and thought anything other then I am glad they are here you are gulity.

WE are called to love

Understand that God calls us to love everyone and treat everyone the way we would like to be treated.
You never know what the other person has been through.
Matthew 7:1–4 CSB
“Do not judge, so that you won’t be judged. For you will be judged by the same standard with which you judge others, and you will be measured by the same measure you use. Why do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the beam of wood in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the splinter out of your eye,’ and look, there’s a beam of wood in your own eye?
WE are all Going through something or we all have something that makes us on perfect just like it says here we have a piece of wood in our eye but rather judge someone else.

We are called to spend time with everyone

We are called to accept everyone and fellowship with everyone. If we are the church and we truely want to tpo have everyone here we have to to be willing to spend time with everyone. and bring everyone in , How do we do that? we do that by not picking and choosing who it is we are going to spend time with, We need to start spending time with everyone.

Are you ready?
