But we must admit there are sometimes when life happens and you just don’t feel like being used by God, you just want to have time to not feel his unction not to feel his power not to hear a word for someone else but you want him to speak to you and you only but every time you go to talk to someone you end up encouraging them more than they encouraged you, you leave still questioning while they received their answer and you cant stand the fact that sometimes being anointed is more stressful than being normal but the somebody WHEN HIS HAND IS ON YOU, YOU DON’T REALLY HAVE A CHOICE.
And this is where our text presents itself with a man named David who is so anointed he can’t stand it, he is meeting with Kings and has to fear for his life, he finds himself being celebrated above Saul and the people are singing, Saul killed a couple thousands but David has killed tens of thousands, and yet he becomes so afraid of his anointing, he starts acting outside of his character, isn’t that like us who are anointed but every now and then we just want to be somebody else, we don’t want the restrictions, we don’t want guidelines, we don’t want the extra prayer time, we just want to be normal, but when God formed you in your mother’s womb, he ordained you to be different, he ordained you to be unique tell somebody HE MADE ME THIS WAY! I can’t take no credit for whats on my life so I just say to God be the glory tell somebody I DIDNT CHOOSE THIS!
So he finds himself in a cave and the scripture says while he is in this cage trying to get away from using his anointing, trying to escape God, here comes individuals who need God, the scripture says in comes those who are in distress, those who are in debt and those who are bitter and all of a sudden someone realizes David and he becomes the leader of about 400 men, what is God doing to David that anytime he tries to come escape and even put himself in a cave he finds himself using what God gave him? I think this is what he meant when he asks the question where can I go from your spirit, if I go to the heavens you are there but if I make my bed in hell you are also there, if I go to the far side of the sea you are there and if I try to hide in a dark cave your light in me is so bright it overcomes the darkness, how much longer will you keep trying denying the power God has given you, how much longer will you try to hide from God, how much longer will you try to convince yourself that he made a mistake, I’ve come to tell you the gifts and callings of God are without repentance and he makes no mistakes, we make mistakes but he is unfailing, we are unstable but he is uncuttable for he is the same God yesterday today and forevermore, he said I am the Lord and I change not and if he doesn’t change neither does his word because he is his word so if he told you he’s got an assignment for you than no matter what you do, no matter what you say you can never change his mind about you. Tell your neighbor HE’S JUST THAT STUBBORN. This is the same God that was so committed to Jonah’s part in his plan that when Jonah got rebellious he put him in a deadly situation just to get him to the place he originally designed for him to be, tell somebody else HE”S JUST THAT STUBBORN.
David is operating in his anointing but there is still an issue we must deal with and that is he’s still in a stronghold, he tried to run from God and found himself being used by God anyway but yet he’s still in a cave and it takes a prophet in the cave to say its time for you to leave this stronghold, some of us have been used by God but we are in a cave, used by God but struggling, used by God but cant seem to get unstuck, but I’ve come as a prophet of God to tell you YOUVE GOTTA LEAVE THIS CAVE,
